Personal Lines Account Manager I

**Purpose of Job****Multiple Positions Available**** Role may offer flexibility to work from home once training has been completed. To enable this flexibility, please consider the following:Must have internet bandwidth with minimum capability of consistent speeds of 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. Satellite or Wireless are not currently approved. Ability to provide workspace at home that is safe, suitable for work, and provide a distraction free environment from background noises that may distract a member or internal USAA customer. Ability to return to campus for training and other meetings as needed so must reside within a daily, reasonable commuting distance to a USAA facility.**Within defined guidelines and framework, advises on personal lines insurance products and provides appropriate coverage to members and nonmembers who would otherwise not qualify for standard coverage under USAA guidelines. Effectively underwrites applications for USAA and multiple additional admitted and non-admitted carriers. Adapts to each carriers’ unique underwriting, platform and other critical guidelines, to ensure appropriate pricing for members with risk and exposure beyond USAA’s appetite.**Job Requirements**Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.Utilizes a consultative approach to build rapport with members and nonmembers with higher than average risk profiles to determine their needs, and recommend and provide solutions based on current personal lines products (auto, Fl property, wind, and 4 or more different types of Umbrella policies – Primary, Excess, XPL and CPL) and service offerings in all US states and territories.Aligns the member needs to multiple product lines and carriers to include USAA and up to an additional 7 external carriers depending on the product line.Evaluates and adheres to USAA’s and up to 7 additional external carriers’ unique underwriting criteria and process requirements across multiple product lines to ensure appropriate approval and pricing to issue and service member and nonmember policies.Underwrites policies using a critical thinking/resource-based approach to include property appraiser/permit search/carrier manuals/verifying data with supporting documentation, etc. vs. a USAA system/member-led approach.Adheres to Anti-trust laws to ensure proprietary information of multiple carriers (to include USAA and up to 7 additional external carriers) and remains secure in compliance with applicable law.Demonstrates advanced knowledge of Agency systems including comparative rater, Agency Management System, 4 different Umbrella, and 5 different Wind carrier systems to determine the appropriate product and terms to recommend to the member or nonmember.Effectively documents all policy information, carrier correspondence, and carrier forms in Agency Management Systems/ Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to facilitate members’ and nonmembers’ insurance renewal process.Leverages advanced process knowledge to effectively perform advanced tasks and support team members with process and procedure inquiries.Initiates, captures, reviews and validates process and procedure change recommendations from team members through collaboration; provides recommendations to senior level teammates and management.Serves as line of business subject matters expert; leverages advanced knowledge of products and processes to provide training support during employee onboarding.Validates and elevates procedure changes for approval (tracks BOLT errors/reports KD updates/provides necessary updates to commonly used resources).Supports other Personal Lines Account Managers in handling escalations as they arise.Performs 360 review of all policy decisions to determine exposure (autos, properties, drivers, watercraft) and validate process and level of risk.Serve as a liaison for claims and service of the account to include billing disputes and coverage inquiries for 4 external carriers.**Minimum Experience:**+ High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma+ 2 years of insurance sales and service experience, including all personal lines of business and/or experience working in a Personal Lines multicarrier insurance agency or broker setting.+ Valid Property and Casualty insurance license for home state and/or ability to obtain home state and multistate license within 90 days.+ Advanced knowledge of personal lines coverages and services.+ Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.+ Excellent communication & customer service skills.**Preferred Requirements:**+ 1 year sales lead or sales case management+ 1 year outbound team sales experience+ Insurance Designation (AINS, AIC, CPCU, SCLA)+ Must have valid property and casualty insurance license**Compensation:**USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position.
