Position: Operations Supervisor
Duration: 12+ months contract (possible extension)
Location: 1 Trade St., Cincinnati, OH 45227
Duties:
* MUST BE FLEXIBLE AND ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT (2-2-3 schedule) shifts are as follows: 1st – 6a-3:30p 2nd – 2p-11:30p 3rd – 10p-7:30a Alternating Weekend Schedule-shift is either 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM
1. Responsible for directing and guiding operators and their activities for assigned area/shift in the execution of production plans (receiving, processing, mixing, baking, packaging, etc.), shift change management and communication, daily production standards, and labor reconciliation.
2. Participate in the development of and implementation of plans and policies to ensure compliance in all areas of responsibility. Operate production lines in accordance with FDA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices, and HACCP/SQF program guidelines.
3. Responsible for team development of employees to ensure proper mixing, machining, and packaging in assigned areas according to targeted specifications to achieve total quality.
4. Responsible for problem-solving process to resolve and/or mitigate those operational issues resulting in negative performance to plan as determined by the established escalation process.
5. Ensure adherence to all standard work processes.
6. Responsible for compliance with all regulations. Food safety – plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control and pest control guidelines followed. Compliance with food safety policies and procedures. Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures.
7. Participate in safety activity to include safety committee, 5-Minute Safety Talks, audits, etc.
8. Responsible for focus area ownership to include all food safety and safety activity in assigned area.
9. Achieve targeted customer service levels.
10. Administer the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement/work rules and company policies and procedures in a consistent manner, and provides input during planning and preparation for labor negotiations. Attempt to resolve grievance and disputes on the floor whenever possible.
11. Maintain understanding of processes and functional interdependencies. Recognize and escalate, as needed, those issues identified as potential risks to or opportunities to improve plant performance.
12. Drive K-Values.
13. Prepare for and execute successful startups and shutdowns.
14. Document and escalate supplier issues/non-conformance.
15. Participate in daily food review.
16. Strong troubleshooting, driving to root cause using RCA methodology.
17. Responsible for supporting the execution of relevant projects within assigned area / shift. 18. Adhere to and administer company policies and procedures (and all associated documentation.) Other duties as assigned.

Experience Required
5-10 yrs experience in manufacturing leadership – managing a team working on the production floor
Experience Preferred
managing in a union environment
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2 years related experience OR High School Diploma/GED plus a minimum of 5 years related work experience |
