Overview
GA Manufacturing Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Operations Manager in General Assembly.
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop group leaders and to ensure Safety, Quality and Productivity improvements are made to allow KPIs to be met.
Reporting to the GA Director, the person in this role will support the Assembly department’s objective to support the overall success of the company.
Reporting to the Director of General Assembly & EOL, the person in this role will support CANOO’s first North America manufacturing operation.
Production includes assembly of a Lifestyle and Delivery vehicle.
CANOO also builds EV battery modules and packs.
Leading Group Leaders and Team Leaders in the safe production of high-quality vehicles that meet our cost goals of the manufacturing operation and plant facilities.
Responsibilities
Lead Production Group Leaders daily to meet Safety, Quality and Productivity KPIs.
Interact daily with Group Leaders to understand development needs as well as interact with and coach production team members and team leaders.
Dual capped with another Manager with responsibility for a Hoshin (business plan) KPI.
Manage change during takt time changes and new model launches.
Daily management of Safety, Quality, and Productivity issues.
Develop business plans and strategies based on Hoshin (company business plan) responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business or Technical field or management experience in manufacturing
Manufacturing experience
Management experience
Experience in a project planning lead role
Ability to rotate shifts as needed
Preferred Experience
Experience in automotive or lean manufacturing
Experience leading a group of 50 direct or indirect reports
Toyota automotive experience
Travel Requirements
Travel required to support prototype builds and visit equipment suppliers
