Oculus: Strategic Sourcing Manager -Audio Technical Lead

As an Audio Strategic Sourcing Technical Lead for Meta’s Reality Labs, your job will focus on building technology partnerships that accelerate the introduction of new consumer hardware products and metaverse-driven experiences.

You will be part of a fast-moving team that explores advanced audio technology to push the boundary of acoustic performance in novel product form factors.

Working with engineers from RL’s audio engineering teams, you will lead collaboration opportunities with industry partners ranging from startups, universities, to established corporations.

Key responsibilities include managing strategic relationships with key partners in the industry, negotiating contract agreements and pricing, leading supplier selection efforts (RFP/RFI), influencing technology roadmaps at Meta and at industry partners, and driving the incorporation of NTI results into Meta product roadmaps.Responsibilities:Build relationship with key industry partners to enable collaboration with Meta on audio technology developmentManage strategic relationships with the executive leadership at industry partnersIdentify new partners for technology exploration and developmentNegotiate and execute development agreements, master supply agreements, statements of work, and other critical contractsSecure mass-production capacity to support RL product demand and drive partner to grow capacity where necessaryNegotiate competitive pricing from partners to enable successful incorporation of audio technology into RL productsLead supplier plan-of-record (SPOR) alignment discussions with audio cross-functional partnersEstablish partner selection framework and criteria for RFP/RFI specific to NTI initiativesWork in conjunction with Meta’s audio engineering team to develop a sourcing strategy and NTI roadmap that enable development of cutting-edge audio technology and incorporate such technology into RL product roadmapInfluence technology roadmaps and collaborate with industry partners to ensure Meta’s technical and commercial requirements are fully metProvide commercial support to meet audio engineering team’s NTI roadmap objectivesDrive NTI exploratory discussions with Meta’s audio engineering team and potential industry partners, including setting up technology evaluations and managingManage NTI investments end-to-end, from initial exploration to validation completionContinually benchmark the industry to monitor technology trends and ensure best practices are incorporated into Meta’s supply chainMinimum Qualifications:BS degree10+ years experience working in audio technology development5+ years experience working in consumer hardware productsProficiency on general acoustic technology principlesExperience working on both strategy and execution in a hardware development environmentExperience operating in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervisionLeadership and program management experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, complex environmentsExperience communicating with and influencing all levels of management to reach consensus on strategic initiatives as well as tactical plans of actionDemonstrated experience interfacing with and establishing commercial and technical relationships with senior management at suppliers and/or industry partnersExperience in supplier evaluation/selection (RFP/RFI) and developing sourcing strategiesPreferred Qualifications:BS degree10+ years experience working in audio technology development5+ years experience working in consumer hardware productsProficiency on general acoustic technology principlesExperience working on both strategy and execution in a hardware development environmentExperience operating in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervisionLeadership and program management experience working with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, complex environmentsExperience communicating with and influencing all levels of management to reach consensus on strategic initiatives as well as tactical plans of actionDemonstrated experience interfacing with and establishing commercial and technical relationships with senior management at suppliers and/or industry partnersExperience in supplier evaluation/selection (RFP/RFI) and developing sourcing strategiesFacebook’s mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together.
