Gannett Fleming is seeking a dynamic energy leader who is passionate and capable of developing and guiding advanced solutions across renewable and distributed energy systems and services.
Specifically, the firm’s Microgrid and Battery Storage Leader will play a critical role in helping to shape Gannett Fleming’s approach for planning, designing, building, and operating microgrid systems and associated energy storage applications through the roles and responsibilities described below.
As the firm’s energy services division evolves and grows, additional responsibilities may be taken on as appropriate.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Practice Building and Development of Microgrid and Energy Storage Services
Serve as the firm’s leader in microgrid and energy storage services from strategic planning through project execution phases in partnership with public and private client organizations.
Stand as Gannett Fleming’s national expert and systems-level thought leader in associated areas of public policy and finance, market development, research and strategic planning, and new technology advancements among other related areas.
Proficiently build upon key identified forces of change including decarbonization, decentralization, social and political drivers, and rapidly changing technology.
Work with Energy Services senior business group leaders to identify, plan for, and attend key industry conferences, webinars, media events, blog opportunities, client meetings, and other showcase opportunities.
Leverage current and future relationships to catalyze Gannett Fleming’s nationwide microgrid and energy storage offerings and capabilities.
Leadership in client and partner management and engagement.
Project Management and Oversight
Experience consistently delivering complex projects on-time and on-budget.
Proficient in project management principles and their applications spanning from opportunity capture to project execution.
Ability to design agile project management frameworks while assembling and managing project delivery teams.
Ability to build teamwork, comradery, and functional working relationships across multiple engineering practices, including but not limited to transit and rail, roadways, environmental, facilities, and power.
Strong understanding of big picture concepts with the ability to formulate a strategy for executing tangible results and outcomes.
Professional interpersonal skills relative to client and staff management, relationship development, and community building.
Strong technical writing and presentation skills related to proposal development and management.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or above in urban and regional planning, engineering, public or business administration, and/or associated disciplines.
3 years or more of progressive experience related to strategy, market analysis, and/or project delivery of microgrid or energy storage infrastructure or other relevant work history.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training preferred.
Location
Flexible – California or Colorado preferred but not required.
Some travel will be required based on project and business development needs.
