We are looking for a Materials Manager.
This position supervises and trains personnel in purchasing, production control, inventory control, customer service, traffic departments

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning, and quality control of raw materials.
Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce cost, and streamline operations.
Develop and provide leadership to department personnel in effectively utilizing a master production schedule to plan and provide the required levels of finished goods, a materials requirement system to ensure components necessary to produce finished goods, and systems to maintain acceptable inventory levels to meet customer requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of solutions to problems affecting the flow of material and support of customers.
Coordinates with manufacturing and finance on matters involving inventory related cost.
Maintains communication efforts with customers and sales team to understand order patterns and delivery performance criteria.
Reviews requisitions.
Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items.
Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Reviews and approves invoices for payment.
Expedites delivery of goods to users.
Schedules, supplies, and manages material for outside processing.
Loads, maintains, and reviews RPS System.
Negotiates and develops cost savings.
Drive continuous improvement activity throughout the plant, utilizing tools such as value stream mapping, kaizen events, 5-S process, and other lean production principles.
Acts as the plant manager’s back up and fills in when the plant manager is not available.
May give certain authority to assigned staff within their job scope to perform duties, make decisions, and use independent judgments.

Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.
Required Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in related field required or 4
– 6 years experience in related field like logistics or supply chain management.
