Job ID: 20618 Position Description: Position Summary: The Master Planner is a member of the Operations leadership team and is responsible for aligning the supply to meet customer demand in a highly complex manufacturing organization consisting of metal fabrication, machining, final assembly and test cells for Commercial Aerospace and Military Heat Exchangers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for internal work orders, transfer orders between sites and outside service orders
• Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) activity to master schedule the production shop in accordance with customer demand and work center capacities
• Improve scheduling methodologies for short-term and long-term horizons and implement proper planning parameters to drive material supply in accordance with economical manufacturing standards
• Work with production supervisors and leads to develop planning standards for all item types and implement standards into the Oracle (ERP) system
• Evaluate Oracle reports and provide recommendations to planning team on appropriate actions related to cancellation, reschedule or modification to “released” jobs in manufacturing
• Participate in daily production walks to understand the pulse of the factory and provide input and guidance to assist in production meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery and Production goals
• Partner with material handling to ensure smooth flow of material throughout all production and inspection work centers
• Maintain Sales Order Ship Dates and Promise Dates in accordance with production shipping plans
• Work with purchasing to ensure material is received and processed through to the job order on time for job order start date
• Interfaces closely with Program Engineers/Managers and Customer Service to evaluate customer requirements and approve the release of materials in support of special projects and prototype builds
• Monitors and adjusts as necessary, build schedules to maintain valid due dates on all orders.
Releases sufficient work to meet department earned hours’ targets.
Informs immediate supervisor of potential voids and assists in remedial actions to make adjustments.
• Participates with other factory leaders in support of cost reduction activities and inventory goals
• Maintains contact with other departments on matters of mutual concern.
Supervisory Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure planners perform their duties in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
• Maintain proper resource availability including time-off requests Job Requirements: Position Requirements: Reqiured Skills and Abilities:
• Strong communication, analysis, and math skills a plus.
• Data analysis skills using Excel or equivalent is required
• Accurate data entry skills
• Highly organized and able to multitask
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline and 3-5 years’ experience working in a Production Control / Planning or Materials group in a manufacturing environment (equivalent experience will be considered)
• Experience with ERP business systems desirable.
• Excel, Power Point and Word experience required
