Marina Manager

Oak Hill Management

This is a Contract position in Mc Cormick, SC posted January 22, 2022.

The General Manager is responsible for the day to day management of Savannah Lakes Marina located in McCormick, SC. He or she will oversee the operations, budget, staff, boat slip leases, seasonal boat rentals, the Ship Store, facility maintenance and repair, security, landscaping, planning etc. while providing the highest level of customer service. The General Manager will cultivate and maintain relationships with the greater Lake Thurmond community and other related business affiliates.

Responsibilities

Oversee all profit centers including slip rentals, fuel, boat rentals and the Ship Store

Develop processes and procedures for smooth operation of revenue generating activities

Manage boat slip leasing:

  • Sales of new leases with the target of 100% occupancy of the slips dedicated as available for annual lease;
  • Ensuring each slip holder’s file is maintained, containing a signed contract and insurance;
  • Provide renewals to customers

Manage ship store

  • Maintain inventory and set pricing of products
  • Manage fuel sales and inventory: Pricing, storage and delivery with fuel provider
  • Compliance with governmental standards for fuel storage and distribution
  • Oversee operation of ship store
  • Approval and categorization of all expenses, submitted weekly to ownership;

Manage rental boat operations

  • Manage Boat rental process: Manage reservations, marketing, and communication of boat rentals;
  • Coordinate staffing, supplies and maintenance of rental boats;

General Marina Management

  • Manage operations and expenses in accordance with Final Approved Budget;
  • Assist in preparation of annual operating budget
  • Supervise all staff with forward-looking leadership;
  • Hiring and management of staff for various positions including dock hands and store staff
  • Preparation of staff schedules; Bi-Weekly submission of payroll, overtime approval as needed
  • Provide training, uniforms and safety reviews to all employees; Annual performance reviews of all year round staff between one week before and week after the anniversary of the hire date. Provide training for safety protocols and compliance guidelines
  • Oversee facility maintenance, repairs and upkeep, including regular inspection schedules and maintain all code and certification requirements;
  • Gather quotes, meet with contractors and monitor job progress for vendors including: electrical, plumbing, fuel equipment, dock repair, landscaping, ect;
  • Play a role in the continued development of the property and marina including: idea generation, market research, investigate regulations/requirements;
  • Develop professional relationships with marine/marina advisory groups such as the Association of Marine Industries and Marine Retailers Association of America

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in marina management preferred but not required
  • A strong degree of creativity to facilitate efficient problem solving
  • Experience creating and maintaining a budget;
  • Thorough knowledge of boating
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong team leadership skills
  • High regard for customer service and employee relations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
