Manages the Reimbursement area of Finance, ensuring the accuracy of the gross revenue/ contractual sections of the financial statements and the timely and accurate filing of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports as well as other related filings/certifications.
Reviews reimbursement trends and provides analysis to explain variances in net revenue.
Keeps current with Medicare regulations.
Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities:
1.
Oversees and assists in the preparation of the month end closing entries for gross revenue, contractual allowances, net accounts receivable and due to third parties.
Ensures the accuracy of reporting and prepares analysis of variances.
Works closely with patient financial services and decision support to communicate findings related to revenue cycle.
2.
Oversees and assists in the preparation of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
Ensures that cost reports are filed timely and in compliance with government regulations.
Over-sees the preparation of the area wage index data for the consultants review.
3.
Coordinates Medicare and Medicaid audit process.
Reviews and analyzes the accuracy of their reporting and audit adjustments
4.
Oversees and assists in the preparation of the gross revenue and the contractual allowance section of the annual budget.
5.
Analyzes current and proposed Medicare/Medicaid regulations and analyzes the effects
on current and future reimbursement.
Provides information necessary to evaluate.
Medicare payment accuracy, managed care contracts and update the information systems database.
Oversees completion of annual/other Medicare required certifications.
Trains and educates staff as well as informal education to leadership.

Prepares special projects upon request.
7.
Participates in committees and meetings involving reimbursement issues
8.
Performs other work duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related finance field
Healthcare reimbursement experience required (preferably at manager level)
A minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience required
Demonstrated knowledge with financial applications, systems, and processes
Demonstrated ability to interact with leadership teams
Supervisory experience necessary
Takes direction from: Director of Finance and CFO
Provides direction to: Sr.
Financial Analyst and Financial Analyst
Supervised by: Director of Finance
Employee is required to sit continuously and walk occasionally.
Employee is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead.
Employee is occasionally required to reach forward and reach overhead.
For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping and pushing/pulling.
Employee is continuously exposed to CRT terminal work.
(Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%) The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
