The Manager, Quality Assurance manages the day-to-day work of assigned staff and operations of the department. Leads, directs, and reviews the work of a team to ensure successful operational outcomes within the department. Develops and oversees the design and implementation of validation procedures, test plans, and test cases. Maintains product consistency throughout development and product cycle, to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing. Develops and maintains quality assurance metrics for departmental performance improvement. Collaborates with key stakeholders and IT teams to implement ongoing quality improvement processes. Supports application core base functionality to evaluate and maintain system integrity in conjunction with best practices and day-to-day business processes. Problems faced are difficult to moderately complex. Influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
– Designs and implements inspection methods, evaluation, validation procedures, test plans, test cases, and execution methods to ensure that products adhere to quality standards for both manual and automated testing. Creates and maintains process documentation, procedures, and policies. Keeps documentation up-to-date and works with IT teams and assigned stakeholders to address concerns and maintain dictated standards and policies.
– Leads, directs, and reviews the work of the team through execution of multiple streams of integration, system, and regression testing of software with both manual and automated test execution. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by the team, clients, and stakeholders. Develops and/or refines procedures to improve results and leads change efforts to ensure sustainable improvement. Sets direction for the work group and operationalizes key strategic initiatives as defined by senior management. Ensures work is completed within the established budget and timeline.
– Tracks and analyzes products through software development life cycle (SDLC) and business process to guarantee that each part of the functional and non-functional process is correct. Performs detailed and recorded inspections of final product set(s) so the product set(s) are up to industry and company standards. Documents found bugs/defects or other software issues, step-by-step ticket creation detailing the bug/defect to include issues and the potential problems they may create. Identifies possible coding issues in software and makes recommendations for changes to fix these issues.
– Collaborates and communicates with IT teams to understand project objectives, gather testing and automation requirements, design tests (manual or automated), troubleshoot issues, and implements test solutions. Provides solution guidance for different scenarios on outages and various problems, incidents and/or opportunities that may be presented to the team.
– Facilitates quality assurance portion of the change management processes, including the development and execution of test scripts, documentations, demos, and trainings.
– In accordance with applicable policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, may perform the following supervisory responsibilities: Interviewing, hiring orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:
– High School Diploma or GED required.
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, and/or related field preferred.
– Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Management, Business Process/Service Quality, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Software Development, and/or related field.
– Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing a department with direct reports. Experience mentoring a team to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, career planning, and training opportunities.
– Advanced knowledge IT quality assurance methodologies, tools, and business processes, and development.
– Advanced knowledge and experience in business and technical analysis and functional and non-functional development.
– Advanced knowledge and experience with quality assurance applications.
– Advanced experience with Microsoft and Oracle based applications both out of box and custom development.
– Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, analysis and organizing skills.
– Strong business analysis skills.
– Must be able to implement process improvement changes with leadership direction.
– Must be able two effectively collect and implement detailed requirements, write testing and acceptance criteria.
– Must be able to adapt and be flex to an evolving and changing environment.
