Job Summary: In direct support of a segment of the institution, leads a team of Strategic HR Partners, HR Generalists, and HR Coordinators.
Facilitates specialized human resources processes by managing complex employee relations issues, providing guidance to client unit leadership, and identifying areas for process improvement.
Serves as a Strategic HR Partner and develops effective partnerships across the client unit and the HR department to deliver value-added service to management and employees.
Collaborates with various internal customers and stakeholders to help identify and manage human resources initiatives.
Oversees the work of Strategic HR Partners, and dotted line oversight of the HR Generalists.
Collaborates effectively with HR Centers of Expertise and other support services functions.
Requires limited supervision; acts under a high level of autonomy.
How you’ll make an impact: Oversees the hiring and work of Strategic HR Partners, HR Generalists, HR Coordinators and Employee Relations Specialists to ensure accurate and timely delivery of service.
Designs, develops and implements Human Resources programs that meet the current and future needs of the department and/or institution and provides solutions that address human resources and employee relations needs.
Consults with leadership, providing HR guidance and interpretation when appropriate.
Attends regularly scheduled meetings with respective business units to confirm service expectations, identify trends and anticipate upcoming needs.
In partnership with HRIS, analyzes trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs and policies/procedures that will improve working relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Provides recommendations to client units considering promotions, demotions, title changes, compensation changes, and voluntary terminations for staff.
Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning.
Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
What you’ll need: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
Nine (9) years of professional (exempt) level HR experience.
Experience in employee relations and be knowledgeable of employment law.
Experience in an academic healthcare setting is preferred.
PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP is preferred.
Management or supervisory experience.
