Manager, Business Program Management – Consulting

This is a Full-time position in Chicago, IL posted December 10, 2021.

The Consulting Business Program Management role performs a wide range of work duties supporting senior leaders in the organization.

This role performs program and project/initiative work on a day-to-day basis, manages leadership meeting topics, and develops presentation materials for stakeholders and executive leadership on various Talent priorities/topics.

Work you’ll do

  • You will provide day-to-day support of Consulting business program activities and operations on various Talent priorities.

    In this role, you will perform a combination of professional and management duties, including supervise program activities to monitor and govern program schedules and resources of moderate scope, expenditure, and effect.

    Your role may have responsibility over budget administration, planning, and adherence.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works closely with executive leaders to facilitate execution of Talent priorities.
  • Supports overall program goals and the development of specific program offerings and comprehensive policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • Reviews, develops, and leads in the implementation and execution of program offerings and services.

    Provides process and people management over a single program area.

  • Provides strategic, analytical and project management support, and keeps leadership abreast of noteworthy events, milestones and issues in their area of responsibility.
  • Develops program plans with milestones and contingency plans as needed based on budget, timing, and business need.
  • Manages stakeholder integration and communication to support the execution and delivery of priorities.
  • Provides timely communication and flow of information among leadership and key stakeholders.

    Serve as a conduit and contact point so key objectives are communicated clearly and can be met.

  • Contributes to and develops presentations (including presentations, speaking notes, etc.) to relay key messages or ask for participation/execution on activities.
  • Oversees and executes significant “strategic administrative” responsibilities: Manages interaction with stakeholders responsible for preparing meeting materials, and responds as appropriate to inquiries from various leadership groups.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • The team
  • The Consulting business program management role works closely with business leaders and the Talent Business Advisor organization to champion a “One Talent Team” through collaboration with the Centers of Excellence (COEs) and Talent Services to deliver integrated Talent services to support business strategies and priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, minimum of 7 years of Human Resource Management or related experience
  • Solid understanding of the Talent organization/human resources
  • Work well in a dynamic, complex, start-up environment
  • Must be able to easily grasp and communicate complex ideas, including developing storyboards and executive-level materials
  • Strong project management/delivery and “upward management” skills for working with senior leaders
  • Strategic thinker, creative problem-solver
  • Strong written/verbal executive communication skills; strong listening, facilitation and influencing skills with audiences of all management and leadership levels
  • Superior time management/organizational skills including appropriate sense of urgency and proactive approach 
  • Expert problem solver.

    Leverages knowledge gained through prior experience, education, training to resolve issues and remove project barriers

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Word, Teams)
  • Knowledge about the professional services industry; Deloitte experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
