Maintenance Manager (Food Manufacturing Experience Required)

This is a Full-time position in Chattanooga, TN posted December 18, 2021.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for management and oversight of daily maintenance operations, and maintenance teampersons.

In addition, ensure PSMs, SOPs, HACCP, HAZMAT and all maintenance programs meet Company, state and federal policies and procedures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all maintenance (i.e.

mechanical, electrical, programming, waste water, refrigeration, etc.) for assigned facility
Support and develop P.M.s, maintaining efficient maintenance and repair of equipment
Work cooperatively with departmental managers, guaranteeing mechanical and operational food safety and quality
Oversee and manage staffing of maintenance departement
Implement new projects, audits and ideas
Oversee installation of new product lines and processes
Modify, construct & purchase new equipment
Represent and serve as maintenance expert, attending Food Safety, Sanitaiton and Operation meetings
Create, implement and ensure proper on the job training and evaluations
Establish and maintain vendor relationships
Confirm equipment meets state code
Manage and assist operations and sanitation through education and usage training of new equipment
Ensure proper training and up to date equipment knowledge of maintenance team
Develop maintenance team members professionally (i.e.

facilities, production, waste water, tooling, purchasing, etc.)
Work cooperatively to ensure safe equipment operation, maximizing reliability and minimizing cost
All other relevant duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
College Degree preferred
10+ years Feed Mill maintenance experience
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Excellent USDA knowledge
HACCP experience and certification
Proven management skills within food industry
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Demonstrated hands-on electrical, mechanical and refrigeration experience
Physical/Environmental Factors:
Stand and walk on concrete majority of shift
Frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, twist, bend and lift various weights as needed
Occasionally climb ladders, steep inclines, and enter confined spaces
Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs
Occasional exposure to hazardous, and unhygienic conditions
Exposure to cold, humid environment with temperatures ranging from 40 to 90 degrees
Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels
Exposure to strong odors, including ammonia
Exposure to slippery and wet conditions
Ability to work long hours, 7 days a week, and varying shifts as needed
