Maintenance Manager

First American Coil

This is a Full-time position in Mableton, GA posted April 8, 2021.

COMPANY HISTORY:First American Resources was established in 1975 as a specialty coater producing pre-painted aluminum, carbon and stainless steel in widths ranging from 0.50-28″ using two-coat, single coat, thin film and striped coatings for all markets.

Our business is coil coating which is applying organic coatings onto rolled metal strip.

We coat and slit coils of steel and aluminum weighing up to 10,000 lbs.

and 28 wide.

The coils are continuously cleaned, pre-treated and painted on the paint line.

These materials are subsequently used by customers for everything from architectural panels to appliances to automotive parts.

Coil coating is the most precise, efficient and environmentally friendly method of painting metals.

Integrated into our coil coating technology is slitting, spooling, stamping and lancing, which further solidifies our state-of-the-art niche capability.POSITION OBJECTIVE:The Maintenance Manager supervises maintenance personnel who in turn maintain plant equipment, facilities, and related systems in order to minimize downtime, maximize productivity and profitability, and provide a safer working environment.ESSENTIAL Duties and Responsibilities:* Manage all maintenance-related activities, including the installation, modification, and maintenance of plant equipment, facilities, and related systems.* Plan, lead, and execute preventative maintenance efforts to minimize equipment downtime.* Supervise and provide guidance to direct reports to assist them in reaching their professional and personal goals.

Perform associate coaching, and provide discipline and reviews per company policy.* Determine appropriate manpower utilization, and assign personnel responsibilities.

Administrative responsibilities include maintaining Department personnel records, time records, vacation schedules, and tracking absenteeism.* Propose and facilitate improvements to improve productivity, product quality, and reduce equipment downtime and costs.* Assist with the development of department and capital budgets and ensure adherence to same.* Ensure that the necessary equipment spare parts inventory is maintained.* Demonstrate creative problem solving to identify and perform equipment improvements.* Coach and mentor department and team members.* Maintain all equipment manuals, drawings, documents, and maintenance records.* Practice plant safety guidelines and insure others practice safety at all times.DESIRABLE JOB REQUISITES:Education/Training/Experience:* Technical (Associate) Degree or Bachelors Degree, preferably in an engineering discipline, or equivalent certification and/or experience* PLC expert with strong electrical troubleshooting experience a plus* Minimum 5 years management experience in a manufacturing maintenance environmentSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities:* Strong organizational and time management skills* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills* Ability to deliver results under pressure* Working knowledge of equipment and operations* Basic understanding of financial reporting principles* Ability to manage conflict constructively* Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills* Ability to maintain a positive presence in the workplacePhysical Demands, Hazards, and Working Conditions:* Light work.

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, and walking are occasionally required.* Talking, hearing, and seeing with close visual acuity are frequently required.* Keying data, a repetitive motion, is frequently required.* The Associate is occasionally subject to noise and to temperature fluctuations in the production area; however, this position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.* The Associate is occasionally exposed to hazardous materials in the workplace.* The Associate may be responsible for supervising permit-required confined space entry.
