Leukemia Transplant Account Manager

Responsibilities:

The LT Account Manager will drive effective account planning, management, and commercial business development process for LT Account Manager target accounts. They will identify the key stakeholders within the assigned target accounts and build strong relationships with those individuals within each respective transplant center.  They will also work closely with cross functional colleagues to offer and obtain full support for these accounts.  The LT Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for commercial account management activities with the assigned institutions. The LT Account Manager will report to the Director, BMT Sales

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as primary Jazz interface for the LTAM accounts and is responsible for the overall customer experience with stakeholders in the account
  • Constantly maintain LTAM expertise in order to provide support for both customers and internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners to develop business plans and follow processes required to appropriately and effectively educate customers on the identification, management and treatment of post Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) Veno Occlusive Disease (VOD).
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the transplant centers, identifying the key stakeholders,  who have a focus on identifying, managing, and treating VOD
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of current institution internal protocols and help improve  identification of post HSCT VOD in appropriate patients
  • Demonstrate highly effective account management skills and sales competencies
  • Assist with removing barriers to access for Jazz products related to Jazz by working with cross functional colleagues where appropriate
  • Review and analyze product performance within accounts and develop appropriate business plans Understand and apply overall knowledge of healthcare industry, trends, market conditions, clinical guidelines, and market access environment as it relates to effective account management
  • Perform all duties in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, Jazz policies, as well as the Jazz mission, vision, and core values.

Core Competencies / Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • The LTAM Account Manager will have a large sales territory including all academic centers and community hospitals that serve LATM patients
  • Important account management responsibilities includes regularly visiting key stakeholders at assigned accounts, implementing appropriate approved commercial resources as required, and monitoring sales to optimize territory results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians and other health care professionals identified in business plans
  • Support company sales strategy and contribute in fostering a team environment
  • Present a positive and professional image of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and ensure activities are consistent with and enhance the company’s ethical pharmaceutical marketing policies and procedures
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Comply with Company Policies and all applicable legal/regulatory guidelines
  • Perform all activities within allocated budget

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to regularly travel to multiple cities in 5+ state region to manage and service accounts as needed, as well as attend internal and external meetings.
  • Key conference attendance includes but not limited to; LTAM Tandem, ASH, COG, and other Regionally focused conferences as appropriate

Education, Experience & Training Required

  • B.S./B.A. (advanced degree a plus)
  • Minimum of 8 years sales experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • Minimum of 5 years of hematology/oncology sales experience, with relevant experience in the Leukemia and Marrow Transplant strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of transplant/hematology products and marketplace
  • In-depth knowledge of Inpatient Hospital environment
  • Extensive knowledge of the payer landscape in the assigned product area Experience with Hematology/Oncology and/or Transplant medications and both DRG and Transplant pathways
  • Strong knowledge of product(s); competitor product(s); and applicable disease states desired
  • Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, and strong planning and organizational skills are required
  • Self-motivation and ability to excel in a team environment

Description of Physical Demands

  • Frequent travel between meeting sites.
  • Frequently operating a computer, printer, telephone and other similar office machinery.

Description of Work Environment

  • Frequent interactions with external contacts in their office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes.
  • Frequent computer laptop or tablet use, not usually at a workstation.
  • Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of “normal” work hours, in order to meet business demands.
  • Frequent public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.
