Learning Program Director – Leadership

The  Learning Program Director will be responsible for enabling business growth and a high-performing organizational culture by designing and delivering world-class people leadership programs that attract, grow and retain a diverse, top talent leadership pipeline. 

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, implement and manage enterprise-level, people leader capability programs and experiences to achieve business growth plans and enable a high-performing culture, in one or more of the following areas:
    • Foundational People Leader Capability for all Staff/Regional VP, Director and Manager levels
    • High Potential Programs for all Staff/Regional VP, Director and Manager levels
    • Newly Promoted Manager onboarding 
  • Implement measurement strategies that measure the impact of the leadership development program
  • Provide program management for all operational aspects of a People Leader program including project management, resource and vendor management, event logistics, etc.
  • Acts as a strategic leader within the department for other leadership programs and assists in the overall design and development strategy for all programs
  • Facilitates virtual and in-person training sessions as necessary for People Leader programs 
  • Consult and partner with Anthem business leadership, HR Business partners, and Talent Centers of Expertise to:
  • Gather voice of the customer feedback and insights to refine and ensure people leader capability programs and experiences remain relevant and impactful for the business 
  • Ensure alignment of leadership development program goals, outputs, and measurement with overall talent strategy and key talent segments
  • Embed inclusion and diversity practices into people leader capability programs to increase associate engagement and retention

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Requires BA/BS degree in business, education, instructional design, or other learning discipline; 5+ years of leadership and high potential development experience, including executive development (Director) or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in “academy” organizations and/or Fortune 100 companies known for strong HR and/or leadership development practices
  • Experience designing and implementing end-to-end learning strategies in a large, growing, and complex business
  • Specialized expertise designing and facilitating leadership development, high potential development, and/or job rotation programs
  • Demonstrated success at leveraging contemporary leadership development models and technologies
  • Experience assessing, selecting, and managing vendor partners to deliver learning programs

  • Expertise in a broad spectrum of learning practices, technologies, tools, and modalities including blended learning journeys, simulations, and other adult learning modalities 
  • Understanding of best practices regarding business case and measurement strategies for leadership effectiveness
