LEAN MANAGER

Antaya Technologies Corporation

This is a Full-time position in Warwick, RI posted April 2, 2021.

Antaya Technologies is part of Aptiv, a leading global technology company for automotive and commercial vehicle markets.  Antaya Technologies is the industry leader for on-glass connections providing tailored solutions to its customers.  We are currently looking for a full-time Lean Manager to join our manufacturing team.  This position supports Lean Six Sigma activities through continuous improvement projects.  The deployment of Lean is a major change, transformation that requires detailed coordination of change management elements, training and coaching, program management, event planning, execution and follow-up, problem solving and the reporting of the benefits. 

The Lean Manager will provide the support by helping the management team to thoroughly plan, execute and follow up on the deployment activities detailed in the phased methodology using the 100 week vision and 25 week plan in conjunction with the Kaizen Event Planning Process.  Position coordinates the necessary training and coaching to the management team and facilitates the delivery either personally or by using internal and/or external expertise so that they are capable of leading their own training/kaizen events.

Results of the deployment (exit deliverables, KPI impact and lean maturity) are owned by the management team and will be reported by the Lean Manager at the weekly steering team meeting and during the weekly deployment storyboard call with the central team expert.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

  • Deliver training either directly or via site deployment coaches or other internal or external experts.
  • Providing coaching to management team members and kaizen leads on event planning, execution and follow-up.
  • Provide support to the management team on the delivery of results.
  • Develop and maintain networks with peers across Aptiv deployment sites and known external benchmarks and best practices.
  • Provide proposals for the 100 week vision to bring the site in line with external benchmarks and best practices.

COMMUNICATE THE LEAN VISION

  • Maintain consistent behavior in line with the lean behaviors.
  • Coach the management team on the consistent lean behaviors.
  • Communicate the management’s team Lean vision to all stakeholders at the site.
  • Publicize and celebrate the success of the deployment within and beyond the site.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Performance will be measured against the KPIs reported in the weekly site deployment storyboard.
  • Progression in line with the 25 week plan and phase exit planning process.
  • Lean maturity progression.
  • Site BBP results.

DELIVER RESULTS

  • Manage the deployment in line with the deployment road map milestones and deliverables.
  • Report the progress of the deployment during the weekly steering team meeting and weekly deployment storyboard reviews.
  • Prepare for and recommend GO/NO GO and Phase Gate exit reviews.
  • Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures.
  • Perform all other related duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage several tasks simultaneously.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Lean or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Lean deployment is required.
  • Expert Lean Certification is preferred; or must be obtained within two (2) years of employment.
  • Must have a passion for Continuous Improvement.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodologies (related practices and procedures), principles and practices of operations improvement.
  • Must have effective time management and organizational skills to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must have understanding of P&L financials and Opex related expenses.
  • Must have strong analytical skills and process-oriented focus.
  • Effective team building experience with the ability to lead and drive change.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Must have excellent communication skills written and oral, and presentation skills.
  • Must be proficient with computers and demonstrated skills in office applications such as MS Word, and Outlook.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Expert Lean Certification; or ability to obtain within two (2) years of employment.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

TRAVEL

  • Limited travel may be required.
