Knight Transportation: Equipment Control Manager

Primary Purpose: Responsible for overseeing the yard management at designated location(s) to ensure maximum utilization of trailers and other various Company equipment.Essential Functions:Maintains yard inventory by auditing equipment pools, researching idle or missing equipment, and creating container inventory reports, etc.Acts as liaison between Shop, Operations and Customer to ensure maximum use of equipment.Oversees trailer transload process.Coordinates equipment to reposition to ensure trailer pool requirements are met.Assists in routing damaged equipment to shop for rapid repair.

Assists in routing sold/leased equipment to the correct location.Assigns empty equipment to drivers when required.Perform other duties by leadership.Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilities the success of business operations in order to meeting company demands and expectations.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.Work Experience: Minimum of one year operations experience within trucking industry.
