Knight Transportation
Primary Purpose:Responsible for directing the daily operations for a designated business account(s); provide leadership support while leading customer service, planning and fleet operations functions.
Provide recommendations for the design, development and implementation of strategic business initiatives and all operations relative to designated business.
Lead the implementation of business strategy, ensure appropriate alignment of network operations and execute/provide direction and support of all related processes and functions nationwide.Essential Functions: Drive network management initiatives relating to designated business; provide support and assist leadership in the execution, implementation and alignment of network initiatives.
Participate in the evaluation and development of fleet design, structure and compensation packages to maintain fleet competitiveness internally and externally.
Lead increased truck counts and utilization within fleets to achieve loaded miles/week goals.
Lead new fleet implementations; ensuring operations arealigned with overall goals and objectives-Lead operations processes and procedures; ensure leadership staff, management and appropriate department personnel adhere to existing processes/procedures.
Ensure processes are aligned and directed toward attaining overall department, company and profit/loss goals.
Provide support and recommendations in the development, design and incorporation of newly developed processes to improve overall business operations.
Identify process improvement opportunities, inconsistencies, inefficiencies, and production loss areas-Oversee, lead, develop and align department personnel working; overall responsibility for establishing and maintaining a superior work environment through sound hiring practices, setting, and measuring goals and objectives, conducting performance reviews and identifying/reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)-Identify, seek out and research growth opportunities within designated business; identify prospective routes/lanes of business and optimal areas to build/expand network.
Liaison with customer to review approved recommendations and proposals to initiate implementation steps; lead implementation of new business processes.
Act as liaison with Sales, Pricing and other departments to promote new growth of designated business-Responsible for management of Profit & Loss (P&L) budgets relating to designated business; ensure adherence to budgets in order to maximize profitability through cost control, monitoring billing processes and maximizing asset utilization.
Assist in development plan for Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budget; participate in planningprocess and direct execution plans for controllable non-driving expenses-Participate in projects related to system modifications, updates and implementations; assist in conducting research, identifying and determining best system solutions to minimize operational challenges.
Work closely with IT department to successfully develop implementation plans and assist in leading system implementations-Act as lead contact for customer leadership; provide support throughdaily operations to ensure Knight is meeting customer expectations and standards of safety, service, account development and productivity.
