Waterway Gas & Wash, based in Chesterfield, Missouri, is seeking to hire an IT Manager to be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company’s IT infrastructure, point-of-sale systems, customer facing technology and reporting systems. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the technology and information used throughout the company by individual team members is dependable and effective. They will also work to ensure the reliability of customer facing technology, including our mobile app and web site. Root cause problem solving that drives continuous improvement will be an important part of the role. The IT Manager will coordinate the development and implementation of user training and user experience measurement programs. They will be heavily involved in the selection, development, and implementation of new systems. The IT Manager will manage a small team, collaborate closely with other leaders in the organization, and work with third party vendors. The role is hands-on and client driven. This is a career path position as the scale and scope of the role will increase over time. The IT Manager will report to the Director of IT. Performance of the IT Manager will be evaluated based upon the extent to which system reliability and performance positively impacts the work of Waterway team members and the experience of Waterway customers.
Ideally, the IT Manager will spend 80% of their time involved directly with day-to-day IT support, systems troubleshooting, root cause problem solving, program development, and work to improve end user experience. The remaining 20% will be spent on communication, leadership, and project management. The IT Manager will have the opportunity to spend time in the field as part of the continuous improvement portion of the work. Some night and weekend work will be required as part of this role.
