IT HELP DESK TECHNICIAN

. Reports to: IT Help Desk Supervisor
Level/Grade: Hourly Type of position: Full-time Hours: 40+/week Eligible for overtime
Purpose for the Position: We are looking for a competent Help desk technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them. An excellent Help desk technician must have the good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. As assigned, responsible for providing support to all IT systems to include computers, fax, scanners, servers, switches, data, voice, business centers, point of sale systems, reader board, and software. Actively engaged in responding to help desk support to hotels. Provides service to internal customers of the Shamin organization in a timely fashion in a professional manner.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
- Help with G suite Basic such as Gmail, Meet, Chat, Calendars, Drive…etc.
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by Employees.
- Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide accurate information on IT products or services
- Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
- Support Property Management System and Point of Sale Systems at the hotels on refresh projects and upgrades.
- Maintain video surveillance security systems, testing backups on scheduled basis.
- Work closely with all company hotel staff to ensure the smooth functioning of all hotel IT functions. Close working relationships with Supervisory personnel, General Managers, and Corporate Accounting.
Requirements
- Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases, and remote control
- Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
- Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field’
