As an IT Application Manager, you will be responsible for development of best-in-class MES (Manufacturing Execution System) through Business Process Engineering and Standardization. To ensure success as an IT Application Manager, lead the development of roadmaps and deployment plans for MES systems while working closely with IT and other cross functional teams. Optimize end to end processes while breaking through functional silos to deliver flawless launches. Requirements Roles and Responsibilities: * From product design to testing and modifications, you are involved in every step of the application software development process. This involves developing specifications for MES system based on Customer and business requirements, and LMC standards * Gathers requirements and rationalizes the business case for proposed Manufacturing IT solutions that support manufacturing operations * Provides an escalation point for project issues and operations support related to Manufacturing and shopfloor systems * Leads all MES IT Initiatives and acts as a primary interface from Operations to IT * Acts as a Customer interface for systems during vehicle launches Required Skills: * Deep understanding of Manufacturing and shop floor processes – preferably in Automotive Industry * Knowledgeable in end-to-end process within the scope of MES and other shop floor systems * Subject matter expert on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), interaction with PLM/ERP Teams in the design and development of product structures * General understanding of WMS (Warehouse Management) and ERP systems as pertaining to MES * Should have experience in launching MES systems as part of vehicle launches with a wide variety of OEMs * Translation of business requirements from value stream maps and traceability specifications to configuration and development of MES solution * Experience working with cross functional teams across different cultures In addition to these skills, we seek the following abilities: * Applying design and testing methods Understanding design and production procedures and standards to create prototypes and finished products. * Building teams IT Application Manager must work closely with other IT Managers, Systems analysts, software developers, and data managers to ensure successful production of application software. * Integrating applications with existing systems Ensuring a seamless integration of new and existing systems, pertaining to Manufacturing, to eliminate potential problems and maintain data structure and integrity. * Must possess strong analytical, creative, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. * Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills are beneficial. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, and / or Engineering or equivalent is required and compelling demonstrable equivalent experience. * 5 years of direct people management experience * Experience with large IT project implementations * 5 years of experience in an automotive business function – Manufacturing and Supply Chain with increasing levels of responsibility, OR, * 7 years of experience in an IT business analysis or related role in the Manufacturing/Operations functional domain tasked with directly facing the internal customers * 3 years subject matter expertise with Manufacturing Execution Systems/shop floor control systems in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Automotive industry
