The International Tax Manager will join our growing team of tax professionals located at HQ in San Jose, CA.
The International Tax Manager will be contributing to all areas of international tax and managing contract review to optimize Roku’s tax position, intercompany agreements and assisting in mergers and acquisitions.

The International Tax Manager will be a qualified tax professional with solid experience in worldwide tax compliance, M&A, Intercompany transactions, US international tax, Transfer Pricing and ASC 740.
The Role: In this position you’ll serve as a key member of our finance team and will have opportunities to contribute to shareholder value by assisting with the growth of the Company’s international expansion.

Job Responsibilities: Planning Activities – Contribute to the implementation of non-structural tax planning strategies, which maximize savings on a defensible basis.
Conduct tax research.
Participate in the review of proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences.
Support the Federal income tax integration of business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings.
Providing technical tax advice and planning services to a portfolio of projects.
Building strong working relationships with our internal project teams, developing your understanding of their unique needs and requirements Constantly developing your own knowledge, maintaining your status as a trusted advisor by monitoring emerging trends, technologies and practices.
Tax Audits and Controversies – Evaluate requests for information from government officials and participate in developing strategies to successfully defend tax filing positions.
Support the coordination and implementation of audit strategies.
Stay abreast of legal developments and industry positions in order to accurately evaluate options and responses to requests for information.
Financial Reporting – Support the accurate preparation of the company’s Foreign income tax expense (both current and deferred) for financial statement purposes.
Evaluate uncertain tax reporting positions and business combinations in order to properly reflect the tax treatment of such items in the financial statements.
Tax Return Compliance – Manage the accurate reporting of the international aspects of the Federal income tax return.
Review alternative tax positions in order to determine the most appropriate cost-effective filing position.
Support U.S.
transfer pricing compliance process and assisting in technology and process improvements to improve tax return compliance process.
Skills & Qualifications: CPA and advance degree with an emphasis in taxation.
Broad technical knowledge of US international tax law and regulations.
Solid GAAP Financial Accounting/ASC 740 knowledge.
Excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of the tax implications of a multi-national manufacturing company.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective presentation skills.
Big four accounting experience.
Minimum of 6-7 years directly related tax experience The ability to communicate complex tax and industry concepts to clients through exceptional writing and speaking skills
