The Interconnection Manager will lead all interconnection activities through the full life cycle of development and construction of utility scale solar projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for coordinating and daily management of interconnection development-related activities for a portfolio of utility scale solar projects, including coordinating cross-functionally (internal and external) in various functional areas during the projects interconnection lifecycle.
Gain and maintain a firm understanding of current utility and ISO tariffs including the specific interconnection processes to effectively optimize project interconnection results.
Engage with the development team on strategic decision making related to new greenfield development projects.
Coordinate with the engineering team on cost estimation of new interconnection applications.
Manage the critical path and interconnection deadlines for successful completion of utility scale solar projects in coordinate with the development team.
Have responsibility for the timely completion of interconnection related tasks and coordinate with Engineering Department and other Clenera cross functional departments on task completion.
Coordinate, develop, and produce contract documentation such as contracts, agreements, modification task/delivery orders, solicitations, special contract provisions, certifications, and correspondence.
Monitor and track deliverables.
Negotiate interconnection related documents with transmission providers.
Support project due diligence and assist with risk analysis to business development and origination teams on potential project acquisition opportunities.
Coordinate with legal departments in interconnection requirements (lease and purchase agreements, easements), title due diligence, and consultant services agreements.
Handle moderately complex responsibilities, decisions, analysis, and problem resolution, and may seek guidance and/or collaboration on extremely complex situations.
Primary Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with a strong academic track record; preferred in a quantitative field (ie, engineering, business/finance, economics, etc.)
7+ years of combined industry-related and transferable experience
Prefer experience in the following: (1) Ability to analyze power flow studies for injection of solar PV and battery storage generating facilities; (2) preparation of interconnection request packages for submittal; (3) Manage interconnection processes from IR submittal through GIA execution for a portfolio of projects in diverse RTOs; (4) Understanding of Open Access Transmission Tariffs and Generator Interconnection Procedures and FERC regulations for RTOs across the US
Ability to manage multiple projects through the development lifecycle
Prior experience ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
