Job DescriptionAn ICS client is seeking a highly qualified and talented technologist and technology leader to join our team as a Director Software Quality engineering. In this role you will build a software quality engineering practice and be accountable for quality engineering strategy and vision across all Technology, front to back office.You will establish partnerships with cross functional departments such as product, development, HR, Finance, and customer care organization with sole focus on delivering high-quality products. Must have expertise in setting up QA shop from scratch, maturing QA processes and metrics. Role involves interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders and require good interpersonal skills. This role will partner with an external strategic vendor for improving QA process (especially end-to-end testing).Job ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Software Quality Engineering will assess the current state of quality engineering across the firm, and work with both technical and business stakeholders to craft strategy and vision for quality engineering for the organization, including test automation frameworks and tools, test case management, and software quality KPIs. This role will be a vocal proponent of software quality, motivate and advocate quality culture, and provide direction and mentor the team as needed to accomplish accurate software releases. You will also be expected to provide high level and detailed input into testing strategy, scope, and coverage of software releases.This role requires strong influencing skills, to coach a team who are in the early stages of solidifying their approach to quality. You must also have the technical skill required to inform choices about test frameworks for the team and to accommodate all stakeholders needs when implementing the chosen test frameworks. Adoption of the frameworks by all stakeholders within continuous integration cycle and end-to-end testing efforts will be key indicators of your success.Another key indicator will be establishing best practices for analytical dashboards and communicate to senior management the quality status of systems across the company. You will manage and coordinate the resources required by the team to achieve these quality goals.Responsible for providing strategic direction and for managing end-to-end testing for applications.Accountable for project completions, key metrics related to quality code delivery, end-to-end testingAssures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing for software and products.Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Job RequirementsA BS degree in Computer Science, technology, or related fieldsMust have experience in tools and technologies such as Provar, Selenium, JIRA, QTP, Client Mercury or any such QA tools, MS Word, Excel, Project Management and Analytics softwareAt minimum, 10 years of experience in software testing SIT, regression, automation, etc.At minimum, five years of experience leading and managing a QA teamFive years of automated testing experienceProven track record of architecting and building automated test frameworksDemonstrated experience of using KPIs to improve software quality and time-to-marketA culture of ownership and thought leadership, proven ability to create and realize a strategyStrong influencing and coaching skill sets, ability to motivate and grow a teamExperience with DevOps CI/CD pipelinesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsA motivated self-starter who is confident and effective when working across various teamStrong written and verbal communication skills
