This role specifically supports the Aerospace business.
· Aerospace Honeywell Aerospace innovates and integrates thousands of products, software, and services to advance and more easily deliver safe, efficient, productive, and comfortable transportation experiences worldwide.
Their offerings are found on virtually every commercial, defense and space aircraft.
2019 revenues for Aerospace are around 12B.
The Role Reporting to the Director for Technology Strategy, this position is responsible for supporting technology development in the AERO Electronic Solutions Business for advanced Electromechanical Device Controllers and Semiconductors.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross functional teams to define technology needs and design the execution plans to mature the technology organically or procure the technology externally.
The deliverable for this role will include Technology to Product Roadmaps, Technology Procurement Plans, STRAP and AOP inputs defining growth focused technology, why the tech is needed, how we will acquire the tech, and the conceptual business case that supports the investment.
The successful candidate will also lead and manage the execution of selected technology projects within the portfolio.
The key priorities of the Technology Portfolio Manager include:
· Work closely with the Gold Business Enterprise (GBE), Technology Fellows, Strategic Marketing, Advanced and Applied Technology (AAT), Product Chiefs and Technology Strategy & Innovation teammates todefine needed technologies and build Technology to Product Roadmaps that clearly define product need date, Technology Readiness Level 6 need date, and the platforms the technology will be used on.
· Work with the offering management and the strategic marketing organization to scope out market opportunities, segmentation to support early business case development to accompany each technology candidate within the portfolio.
· Work with the GBE and TSI teammates to build Technology Procurement Plans for technology candidates that can be acquired using inorganic options (Partnering, M& A, VC, etc) or can be developed via external funding sources (Gov labs).
· Work with the GBEs, Fellows, and Chiefs to understand the competition and develop a growth focused technology strategy for each technology candidate to counter the comp and win.
· Work collaboratively with the GBE, Fellows, Chiefs to generate an initial IP strategy to ensure the technology will be protected and the business has a right to practice.
· Work with technical counterparts and GBE offering managers to facilitate technology requirements flow down, and a smooth transition from technology to product development.
· Work with peer TPMs, TSI leads and Strategic Marketing to uncover cross product line technology candidates and support efforts to advance the resulting Break Through Initiatives (BTIs)
· Present outputs (Technology Procurement Plans, STRAP, AOP) to CTO, and GBE leadership to receive feedback and approval to execute.
· Lead selected technology development projects within the portfolio.
Candidate Profile Our ideal candidate is a senior level strategist with business, technology and strategy experience.
They will:
· Have strong technical background in the Aerospace industry, and especially in developing electric motor controllers and associated semiconductors.
· Have the intrinsic capability to quickly grasp new concepts across the breadth of the Aero portfolio, to enable collaboration across product lines to uncover new technology ideas.
· Have a strong internal network in the technology as well as the business management side to tap into for quick project support or resolution of show-stoppers
· Have strong understanding of start-up operations, Intellectual property frameworks
· Be a globally focused, creative, out of the box thinker, with positive attitude and big picture perspective.
· Be an entrepreneurial problem solver who is persuasive and tenacious to bring cross-functional teams together to explore new ideas.
Have an ability to look beyond the silos of the businesses to find the common threads that can drive innovation.

· Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical / Aviation or Aerospace or similar
· 10+ years of experience in electric motor controller and semiconductor related technology development and project execution
· Practical knowledge of CTQ development (critical to quality), value bridging and propositions, technology and companion business case development, market segmentation and VOC.
· Established track record in mentoring/coaching of teams and the implementation of process improvement initiatives We Value

· Previous exposure to short cycle & highly innovative technology areas
