HNTB is currently seeking a Project Manager I Civil/ Highway with experience in leading large multidiscipline teams to successfully deliver complex Design Build transportation infrastructure projects for our clients nationwide.

Responsible for the leadership and management of a team in support of the project’s profitable operation.

Responsible for proactively managing the project’s technical budget (direct labor and expenses, including technical sub-consultants), schedule, technical requirements, contractual obligations, project communications and HNTB’s 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction on every project.

Responsible for gross revenue of < $5M.Primary FocusWill Include:Performs reviews of Owner procurement documents, develops project preliminary design documents informing the contractor client’s bid and proposal and develops Alternative Technical Concepts.Leads a team to performs technical civil, roadway and drainage design workPerforms operational management activities in support of design build projects with design fees of $2-5M including budgeting, contracting, document control, contract and change management.Mentor and develop engineering skills of junior engineering staff.Travel 50% Preferred Qualifications and Skills:Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and 12+ years of experienceProfessional Engineer licenseDesign Build project leadership experienceExperience in leading the civil design for major highway, airport, or transit projectsAbility to progress multiple tasks at the same time on accelerated schedulesExperience with Bentley and/or AutoCAD design productsProficiency with Microsoft ProjectStrong communication skills including written technical reports and oral presentationsINDWhat You'll NeedEssential Responsibilities:Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client’s satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations.Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.Performs coordination with managers on project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan forproject staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects in accordance with HNTB’s Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials.
