POSITION SUMMARY:

Sugarbush Resort is seeking a Group Sales Manager to join our team! The Group Sales Managers primary function is to expand Sugarbushs year-round, Group, Corporate, Conference, Meeting business and other vertical market segments as determined by the Director of Sales. The Group Sales Manager will manage all sales activities from lead generation; customer needs assessment, client presentation through finalizing and closing of the sale. This position will be responsible for developing new resort business while providing outstanding service to our existing repeat group clientele. The Group Sales Manager will maximize all resort sales opportunities, implement an agreed upon sales and marketing plan, and be instrumental in expanding year-round group meetings and resort visits. This role will work closely with the operations team to achieve high customer satisfaction and achieve revenue goals in line with Sugarbushs vision and values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops Quarterly business plans with the Director of Sales which details activities to follow during the fiscal year and focuses employee on meeting or exceeding sales goals within assigned market segments.
  • Manage appropriate balance between sales prospecting and administrative requirements (contracts/proposals/weekly reports, etc.)
  • Sells consultatively and makes recommendations to prospects and clients of the various solutions the company offers to their business issues.
  • Develops a database of qualified leads through referrals, networking, business development, telephone consulting, and in person calling on business owners, direct mail, email, and networking.
  • Assists in the implementation of company marketing plans as needed.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting weekly activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
  • Sell resort lodging, conference and meeting spaces, in addition to resort wide recreational activities and food and beverage for both summer and winter. Primary focus will be on four seasons with midweek and off-peak periods a priority.
  • Prepare for selling season targeting vertical market business opportunities. Generate and track new and old leads and customers utilizing resorts CRM database.
  • Provide and recommend to Director of Sales valid rate quotes based on thorough business analysis of each group booking.
  • Coordinate smooth transition from sales to operations servicing team and back, finalizing with client callbacks and group history. Communicate all event details to operations team in a timely and effective manner.
  • Work with the other sales and operations team members, as designated by the Director of Sales and V.P. of Sales and Marketing when called upon to maximize total team productivity.
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in all resort areas allowing Business Development Representative to give effective presentation of Sugarbushs products and services.
  • Create and conduct effective proposal presentations and RFP responses that identify prospects business problems, the effects of the problems, and the solutions to their concerns.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in appropriate societies.
  • Support other Team members and uphold the Sugarbush vision and values.
  • Attend weekly Group Sales Team Meetings.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-4 years of resort sales or related experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and willingness to accept constant challenge. Have ability to prioritize workload.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of resort, ski industry and travel business preferred.
  • Proven ability to achieve sales quotas and meet goals.
  • Customer Service, Meeting Sales Goals, Closing Skills, Territory Management, Prospecting Skills, Negotiation, Self-Confidence, Product Knowledge, Presentation Skills, Client Relationships, Motivation for Sales.
  • Experience with Delphi Amadeus, Reservation and Revenue Management technology strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft Suite and Microsoft Teams
