This role will support the Global Product Manager to optimize the service product and solution portfolio and return on investment. You will ensure that ABB has a full understanding of market requirements in a LV Aftermarket and Service and will be able to transform these requirements into product and service solution specifications and development activities.

Reporting to Global PG Product Management Manager, you will perform various activities to assist in the development, launch, maintenance, and profitable future.

Your responsibilities

  • Follow and understand global standards, market and customer requirements and their impact on the product/service portfolio; conduct valuations of market size and trends, conduct competitor analyses including identification of product/service solutions gaps and evaluate the ABB position.
  • Ensure technical solutions can be used across the Product Group’s product/service portfolio as far as is possible.
  • Manage the technical specification of product assigned and support the Product Manager in developing the business case for product/service developments, maintenance, and cost reduction; follow major warranty cases and quality cost drivers for assigned products/service and ensure a resolution.
  • Collect and analyze standards, market requirements, customer needs and values as an input for producing a product roadmap. From identified opportunities, support the Global Product Manager in creating the business case for product/service development projects or product/service transfers.
  • Support New Product/Solution Introduction team; prepare product/service market communication materials, including support for new product/service launches.
  • Clarify product/service positioning within the portfolio, with defined values per product/service line to address different segment needs.
  • Keep other Product Groups, Sales and channels informed on topics related to the product/service, such as new product/service availability, market, competition, quality, configuration, trends and limitations; provide sales support, participate in customer meetings and attend trade shows on request; support marketing programs and ensure appropriate training material is available for use both internally and externally.
  • Support Local Service organizations to offer and deliver services and solutions.
  • Drive technical solutions across the product/service line; maintain and follow annual cycle of activities to govern product management for assigned products/service.
  • Manage Digital transformation in S4V project for Service.
  • Support and lead online configuration tool launches in empower, online digital experience tool.

Your background

  • Require 4 years degree in business, engineering, or related field (or equivalent & relevant industry experience) with 2 – 5 years of product management, product development or related experience preferred.
  • Availability for domestic and international travel.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Strategic thinking, able to analyze and manage complex business situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Assertiveness and ability to work in a virtual team, if need to.
  • Knowledge of electrical power system/electrical distribution applications and associated products and services.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.
