Englewood Field Club
Club Overview:
Established in 1887 in Englewood New Jersey, The Englewood Field Club is a private, family-oriented club where members and their families enjoy year-round sports, recreational programs, social events, and activities for all ages in a relaxed and casual environment. EFC is located on 10 secluded acres in Englewood, New Jersey, just 10 minutes from the George Washington Bridge and New York City. It was founded in 1887 by five members, hence our famous pentagon logo. A multigenerational club, EFC members are very engaged and take pride in being a part of maintaining the family friendly environment that they have been known for.
Amenities at EFC include a variety of racquet sports such as, tennis, platform tennis, pickleball, and squash. Other amenities include; swimming, fitness center, bowling, basketball and ice skating. Dining opportunities are offered throughout the year with many social and holiday affairs for members and guests.
Member programs are a big part of how EFC builds its community. Junior programs include a six-week summer camp for children ages 3 through 12. Guided by enthusiastic, creative staff, EFC campers enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor camp activities in a safe atmosphere. This program offers development in both athletic and artistic activities including swimming & tennis lessons, sport clinics and creative projects. In addition to camp, our racquet professionals offer spring and summer tennis clinics for a variety of ages as well as platform tennis in the fall and winter months. A very unique offering, EFC also has an ice rink for the use of its members. Ice hockey and figure skating are a highlight at EFC as many of our families take to the ice in the winter months. Hockey and ice-skating instruction are offered to a variety of ages.
EFC offers an extensive social calendar for its members as well. Year-round events, clinics and activities are all planned around the goal of engaging the membership and creating that community connection.
Dining opportunities include a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the tennis courts and pool area, the clubhouse dining room and bar, as well as our recently updated east wing sports bar cafe. Meal periods and offerings vary throughout the seasons and a number of specialty events are offered to the membership each year. The club hired a new chef in 2020. The Chef has been making great strides this past year in enhancing the culinary program and the membership is very happy with the changes being made. Private events are available to members and non-members, but at this time this represent a very small portion of the revenue to the club.
Englewood Field Club has approximately 275 members and has an annual operating budget of $3 million dollars. The Board of Governors consists of 11 members, each chairing a specific area of the club or activity. Annual Food and Beverage revenues are currently approximately $300,000.00 with anticipated growth as we come out of COVID restrictions.
