General Manager Opportunities (Kansas and Iowa)
Seeking experienced manufacturing plant managers ready for the next level of responsibility who have had P&L accountability and understand business development activities targeted to grow sales for the products they manufacture.
Locations in Kansas and Iowa.
Job Summary:
Plans, organizes, directs, and controls manufacturing operations.
Is accountable for profit/loss of each operating unit and takes all necessary actions to maximize the operation’s profitability (EBIT), growth and return on assets.
Optimizes the utilization of all resources under his/her control to manufacture products within quality standards and cost objectives and deliver on schedule per customer request.
Participates in the formulation and implementation of plans, policies, and procedures for the manufacturing operation.
At all times, conduct business in a legal and ethical manner.
Key responsibilities:
Prioritize, Schedule & Delegate work.
Supervise plant staff to meet the goals & production objectives at the lowest cost consistent with customer requirements.
Manage production scheduling team to ensure on time delivery of customer products.
Develop plans for utilization of machines and people.
Review production reports.
Ensure proper maintenance and adherence to PPE policies and procedures.
Establish & maintain housekeeping standards
Establish & maintain safety standards and adherence to those standards.
Work within “Projects & Plans” to recommend capital projects and ensure conformance to budgets.
Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA & Environmental requirements.
Enforce and supports all Safety & Work rules, Chair Safety Committee, Supports environmental requirements on a Corporate, State, and Federal Level.
Responsible for the Profit/Loss (P&L) of the operation, with best practices use of budgeting, pricing, process improvement to maximize operational profitability.
Responsible for Sales and Product Engineering relative to product costing, schedules, manufacturability, design, and product application.
Qualifications:
A B.S.
Degree in engineering or business administration, with a preference for an advanced degree very desirable.
Fifteen (15) or more years’ experience successfully leading employees in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Five (5) years or more experience with the responsibility of Profit and Loss for a 20-75+ Million Dollar Sales Operations.
Five (5) years or more hands on experience with ERP and Quality Systems (ISO/AS/QS).
