Field Manager, Category Leadership

This is a Full-time position in Boston, MA posted November 30, 2021.

This is a remote field position based out of a home office.

We are flexible on your location to be based in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Connecticut.

Job Summary

As Field Category Leadership Manager, you will help build a strong partnership with your assigned New England-based retailers, by providing strategic category guidance in order to bring market-leading growth for Conagra.

You will conduct high-quality analysis using multiple data sources to produce insights and recommendations , while motivating action that is mutually beneficial to the retailer and Conagra.

You will report to a Director of Category Leadership.

Position Responsibilities

  • Be the category expert for assigned categories and retailers, offering analytical and presentation support internally (HQ/Sales) and externally (Customer) to support Conagra business towards MAPS goals
  • Develop and cultivate business relationships with important retailer contacts that establish Conagra as an essential partner for all Category Leadership needs
  • Work with multiple Headquarters and Sales teams and the customer to connect business opportunities to develop both strategic and tactical solutions
  • Conduct analysis using research, Category Leadership principles, analytical tools and clean data visualization to identify and communicate business opportunities or challenges
  • Be a conduit in driving win-win decisions and market influence by identifying and explaining fact-based recommendations through data analysis, presentation building, and storytelling
  • Provide consumer/category input within the Customer Strategic Planning Process to help refine plan elements based on consumer and category knowledge
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive activity to identify opportunities to improve Conagra’s capabilities and advantage in the market
  • Assess shelving opportunities and make recommendations to simplify the shopping experience for the consumer and optimize placement of Conagra brands, while maintaining a category first approach
  • Experience with how and when to use multiple analytical resources across syndicated data, customer data, panel data, and consumer or market macro trends and insights

Position Qualifications

  • 3+ years category management experience in consumer packaged goods
  • Expertise mining data to uncover causes of trends and to provide concise analysis
  • Strength in using facts and insights to build compelling, holistic selling stories with actionable recommendations using multiple sources of data (Syndicated, Panel, Customer Card data, Consumer and Industry Insights)
  • Experience understanding, using and employing syndicated data including such data sources as: Nielsen/IRI scan and panel, Customer Scanner and Loyalty Card Data (ex.

    EYC), space management and assortment tools (ASO, JDA)

  • Project management experience, establishing goals, process, roles, timeline and desired outcome
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously , including ability to pivot and reprioritize while managing expectations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite ( Excel to maintain complex spreadsheets , PowerPoint)
