This individual will work to assure CBP design standards are followed, and that all aspects in the construction project planning phase are completed.Responsibilities* Assist the government in the enforcement of design standards, development of facility strategies and reviews of designs for BPAM facilities during project planning, design, and construction phases;* Shall perform and review portfolio planning including facility assessments, alternative analysis, and cost estimates. Will review design plans to assure all government, state and local regulations, codes and directives are met;* Will coordinate and participate in building out new or revised plans through the preparation of field drawings and diagrammatic sketches.* Will work with the Chief Architect establishing:* Office design and technical standards* Architectural planning studies* Project programming requirements* Will work with Federal, State or Local law enforcement facilities requiring security systems* Provide recommendation on corrections for design and construction based on user requirements; familiarity establishing project budgets and ongoing cost control/monitoringRequired Qualifications* Must possess a Bachelor of Science, preferred in an Architectural focus/field;* Must have a minimum 8+ years of architectural experience;* Registered Architect* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and/or BIM, basic understanding of MEP systems, experience with on-site contract administration, and working knowledge of building codes/ordinances.* Must have the ability to perform minor space planning exercises as necessary for coordinating agency and user requirements for developing final concept design layouts.* Excellent working knowledge of MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)* High attention to detail, self-starter, ability to work effectively within teams and independently* Must be a US CitizenPer Executive Order (E0 14042) proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required prior to your start date.Preferred Qualifications* Successful candidate will have a primary background in the technical side of design and construction, has performed construction administrative services, and has served as the owner’s project managers/representative familiar with establishing program requirements, monitoring budgets and schedules.* CAD experience preferred, but not required.* Currently, or previously, possess or can obtain a CBP or Government suitability.Company EEO StatementAvantus Federal is an equal opportunity employer and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) federal contractor.
