JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for overall strategic direction and day-to-day management of clinical and business operations for the Neurosciences service line for the Piedmont Healthcare System.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
Responsible for developing, managing and updating the 3-year and annual service line strategic plans (including capital and operating budgets, physician manpower plans, business plans and forecasts) as necessary to achieve strategic goals and patient care needs.
a.
Develops goals and strategies for the service line that support the system priorities and goals.
b.
Partners with hospital CEO’s and leadership teams to develop and implement service line specific strategies and plans.
c.
Accountable for business development and growth.
d.
Monitors the external environment to proactively identify and access trends including payer trends (bundled payments, CMS rules/regulations), market competitive trends and physician dynamics.
2.
Coordinates all aspects of Neurosciences program development throughout the Piedmont Healthcare system.
a.
Accountable for the development and performance of the Stroke programs, Spine programs, and other programs for the Piedmont system.
b.
Establishes system wide standards, clinical protocols, processes and performance measures and drives consistent service line approach across all entities.
c.
Develops/executes quality improvement projects for the service line using solid data and analytics.
d.
Provides overall operational leadership including accountability for achieving financial
targets, customer satisfaction, employee retention and engagement.
3.
Serves as the main point of contact for physician partners and external partners, both employed and private practice.
