EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Executive Director provides management and oversight of all activities of the Association as directed by theBoard and the President to fulfill the goals and objectives approved by the Board while ensuring the organization isfinancially sound and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Organize Board activities
o Communication
o Meeting preparation and logistics
o Maintaining records
· Maintain gaming permit
· Support revenue growth
o Develop programs
o Research, write & submit grant proposals
· Manage accounting & Reporting
o Develop budgets
o Monitor bookkeeping
o File grant reports
· Increase organizational capacities in scientific research
o Serve as a principal investigator in AIA projects
o Establish close contacts with relevant scientists and draw the best available human resources to work in the projects
· Participate in various regional, national and international initiatives, forums, organizations necessary for the fulfillment of the Association s goals and objectives
· Ensure adequate representation of AIA in the Arctic Council and its bodies
· Manage all aspects of the organizations daily operations and activities.
· Hire staff and handle personnel issues in accordance with organizational policy. Conduct short-term planning to fulfill long term objectives
· Organize internal structure to reach the corporations goals and objectives

Direct staff activities in the best interest of the organization
Reporting Relationships
Executive Director shall report directly and solely to the Board and/or its Alaskan Officer. Companysemployees or volunteers shall report directly to Executive Director as specified by personnel policies and other organizational documents.
Performance Evaluation
Executives performance shall be evaluated by the Board or its President annually. The criteria shall be based on overall Organizations progress in achieving its goals specified in Organizations policy statement and objectives identified in the work plan for the year of evaluation.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Understanding of Non-profit organizations
· Understanding of Alaska Native People
· Ability to obtain valid US Passport
· Willingness to travel internationally
