Atlanta Community Food Bank

Job DescriptionWho We Are:The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from.

Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, child care centers, night shelters and senior centers.

We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.Department:DevelopmentAbout the Role:Plans, manages, and executes special events to raise funds and awareness for the Atlanta Community Food Bank as part of the Development Department.

Provides communication to Board members, Food Bank donors and supporters, committees, and marketing and communications department.

Participates as a member of the Development Department to achieve financial, public awareness, and other goals.

Reports to the Events Manager II.What You’ll Do:Project Management:+ Manages, supports and/or assists specific ACFB special events and promotions (internal/external)+ Manages all logistics of the event pre-, during, and post-event (including but not limited to: logistics, safety, security, and liability)+ Plans timelines for successful execution of events+ Selects vendors and negotiates contracts+ Manages sponsorship and tickets sales for events+ Works with leadership team on strategic planning and material approval+ Prepares or assists in meeting coordinationBuilds and Nurtures Relationships:+ Maintains appropriate records in Raiser’s Edge regarding constituents+ Actively cultivates and stewards donors and vendors before, during and after events+ Works closely with other departments to achieve financial and overall development goals+ Creates strategic alliances to leverage needed goods, services, and resources for the organization.+ Joins and participates in organizations and associations to build relationships within the community+ Supports/supervises volunteers, board/committee members, and/or interns+ Manage in-bound promotions, cause marketing promotions and third party eventsCommunications:
· Collaborates with Marketing and Communication to build marketing efforts and materials for events (which could include paper, electronic, website, social media, etc)
· Prepares communications for special events and related collateral
· Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
· Implements marketing strategies for events/promotionsFinancial Management:
· Participates in the planning and goal setting for special events
· Helps create and manages the budget for assigned projects/events
· Maintains appropriate financial records for each assigned event
· Follows guidelines and accounting procedures for financial record keeping and budgeting
· Issues invoices and collects payments in a timely manner
· Tracks and documents in-kind donationsWhat You’ll Need:Education/Certification
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience
· 4+ years of event or related experience
· Must have proven experience with project management, event planning, sales and marketing, and coordination of multiple projects within deadlines and within budget.
· Demonstrate experience successfully managing relationships with vendors, donors, and/ or sponsors.
·
· Must demonstrate a track record of collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver on objectives.
