This position plans, organizes, directs, and controls the community environmental, security, and laundry functions to contribute to meeting the goals and mission of NLCS; as well as meeting the requirements of the federal, state and local regulatory and/or accrediting agencies.
Some responsibilities include:* Manages environmental, housekeeping, and laundry activities so that optimal services are provided in an efficient and effective manner* Identifies, evaluates and introduces appropriate new equipment, process, products and procedures to facilitate improvements in quality and productivity within the Environmental Services Department* Establishes and records security, housekeeping, security and laundry schedules to keep environmental services consistently at high levels.
Conducts routine inspections and evaluation of cleanliness of facility to ensure quality assurance standards are maintained.
Ensures deficiencies are promptly corrected* Develops and implements operational policies and procedures for the EVS Department, reviewing periodically and updating as needed.
Partners with EVS functional team as needed* Supervise contract personnel/vendors as applicable* Assists in the maintenance and cleanliness of resident equipment/furniture* Ensures and to include participation in providing high level environmental services at all times.
Works closely with EVS team members to ensure highest level of operational services to residents, guests, visitors, and team members* Activity participate in EVS team meetings, to include facilitating and leading meetings as needed* Participates and leads the Safety/Risk Management Committee* Takes the lead in developing the EVS Department operating and capital budgets* Investigates concerns and/or suggestions from residents, guests, visitors, or team members, responds promptly and appropriately* Partners with Talent & Culture in the recruiting, hiring and onboarding of EVS team members* Builds trust and accountability by frequently holding coaching conversations with team members to develop, mentor, and provide constructive feedback to support team members’ goals and strategies* Conduct stay interviews at 30, 60, and 90 days for all new hires to the EVS team* Practices regular Coaching Conversations with direct reports with the goal to build up and equip* Trains team members in performance of duties including NLCS standards of service excellence* Run and manage various reports from HRIS / payroll systems to maintain compliance with team member licensures, payroll, Relias, attendance, etc.* Provides strong supervisory, management, leadership and coaching skills for EVS team members* Supports EVS operations according to established standards and procedures, taking into account any special requirements* Supervises and manages all EVS team members including assigning daily work responsibilities* Maintains team member schedules in staffing software, review and approve timecards for payrollQualifications* High school graduate or equivalent education is required, some college is preferred* Must have positive management skills with a minimum of two (2) years’ environmental services experience; including managing teams of no less than fifteen with proven success* Knowledge of and proficiency in the practices and procedures of environmental services; must be familiar with the use of detergents, germicides, strippers and other cleaning/chemical supplies* Familiar with common environmental service equipment; able to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions* Must be familiar with common environmental services practices, infection control procedures, pest control programs and floor maintenance methods* Ability to read, write and follow direct written and oral instructions* Ability to communicate at all levels, provide instruction, coach and train team members* Must understand and own staff scheduling process* Must exhibit an excellent service attitude and be willing to go out of their way to accommodate residents and exceed their expectations and show enthusiasm for the job and community* Must maintain a level of professionalism and communicate effectively* Must be considerate, patient and willing to help out fellow team members* Must have a good self-image and be able to command the respect of staff* Must be able to tolerate pressure and work calmly and efficiently during busy times* Must handle resident concerns and complaints according to NLCS policies and procedures* Possess the highest work ethics, personal morals and honesty beyond reproach* Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision* Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual* Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays)* Proficient in computer skills including WorxHub, MS Office, etc.* Professional appearance appropriate for a premier CCRC
