Job Summary
The Engineering Supervisor (ES) is responsible for providing the overall leadership and direction for the engineering teams at North Shallowford & Wills Road OPHQs in the Alpharetta Distribution Area.
Additionally, a Team Leader that is responsible for providing direct leadership to the engineering team at Wills Road OPHQ will report to this position.
Job Responsibilities

The ES will lead the engineering team in a Safety Excellence environment with a focus on learning as well as implementation of the STEP observation tools.
The ES will have accountability to ensure a culture within the team that is inclusive, builds trust and is continuously improving.
This includes ownership of our Diversity and Inclusion efforts as well as leadership in continuing to advance our Southern Company “Ensuring Equity” plans.
Development of the team members as well as communications within the team are key responsibilities for the ES.
The ES will provide leadership and guidance for planning, engineering, design, and construction of all activities in the area and will help monitor and guide area-wide Distribution functional budgets, compliance, and system maintenance to ensure reliability.
This includes investigating extended or significant outages as well as timely addressing customer issues that arise.
The ES will provide performance management as well as leadership and guidance in dealing with customer issues (internal and external).
This position will work closely with the other functional departments in the area to deliver best in class, customer value, reliability and cost as well as supporting external community activities.
The ES will also serve as the SERP Operations Director and will be required to participate in SERP events across the Southern System and events off system as required.
Education
Experience
Proven leadership abilities and commitment to Safety Excellence.
A minimum of 2 years of formal leadership experience
Proven record of dealing effectively with customers
Influencer and champion for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion through words and actions
A minimum of 5 years Power Delivery experience preferred
Cross-functional, cross-company experience is a plus
Experience managing capital and O&M budgets is a plus
Experience with storm response and planning is preferred
Experience with TCMS, ARCOS, JETS, CSS, ARMS, or DISTIEW is a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written

Knowledge of Power Delivery operations and processes preferred
Knowledge of Distribution operations practices and procedures preferred
Ability to build strong relationships and a strong team

Valid Driver’s License.
Travel is sometimes required.
Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance to Atlanta.
