Job Title: Engineering Manager, Modeling & Simulation
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position provides engineering project management and scheduling support to assist the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Modeling and Simulation (M&S) enterprise and its projects.
The Engineering Project Manager works with representatives of MDA organizations in the M&S Community to facilitate and coordinate Enterprise M&S programs, projects, and tasks.
The position facilitates planning, budgeting, scheduling, executing, monitoring, and controlling system-of-systems M&S initiatives and programs, providing an integrated (System-level) M&S capability for the Missile Defense System.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Understanding of systems across engineering lifecycle (i.e.
requirements, design, development, test, and deployment)
• Demonstrated understanding of project management disciplines (i.e.
scheduling, requirements management, risk management, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and reporting)
• Experience with DoD acquisition and budgeting processes and procedures
• Ability to think critically (i.e.
research, understand, analyze, synthesize, and critique), creating solutions to new and one-of-a-kind program challenges and issues as they arise
• Ability to propose and execute technical project plans and solutions which align with customer strategic goals–proposing courses of action based on overarching leadership goals and objectives
• Experience successfully facilitating matrixed, geographically diverse technical product and engineering project teams
• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas and produce and present clear, concise, well-organized, and audience-relevant presentations and documents
• Ability to create a positive, collaborative working relationship with representatives and stakeholders from external organizations
• Ability to understand engineering project cost, schedule, and technical relationships and interdependencies
• Conscientious, agreeable, self-motivated, and open-minded individual who can lead teams to creatively meet program challenges, drive groups to create solutions, and orchestrate response actions
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office products to communicate technical and programmatic information
• Experience building and maintaining integrated master schedules with dependencies and interfaces.
• Experience using expert judgment to properly determine logical sequence of scheduled work within project constraints.
• Ability to produce schedule views, including bar charts or Gantt charts, milestone charts, network diagrams, and other schedule data.
