So we can continue to help others love how they live in moments that matter, the iconic brand is looking for a driven and passionate professional to raise the bar and join our Merchandising department as a Divisional Merchandise Manager, located in our Northbrook, IL corporate office.The DMM leads merchant, planning, and strategy teams responsible for the business growth, assortment architecture, selection of product, and financial P&L accountability. This role will utilize market and data insights to build business strategy, ultimately exceeding the financial goals for the enterprise. This role requires a leader who can showcase the tried and true merchandise associated with the Crate and Barrel brand while still embracing new trends that can gain market share. The DMM maximizes company sales growth and profitability by developing business strategies and product assortment plans to maximize the development of the brand, sales and profits for the furniture category.* Develop and execute overall product assortment strategy to maximize sales and profits, resulting in new product offerings without departing from the core equities of the brand.* Collaborate with cross-functional partners across businesses to execute product assortment strategy effectively, from pre-season assortment development to in-season assortment management.* Build strategic, diligent, long-term and financially sound assortment plans.* Lead merchandising teams in the identification of trends, ideas and the interpretation of business opportunities which set us apart from the competition, while still maximizing our core customer business and grow the brand market share.* Establish and maintain programs, procedures, and guidelines to ensure brand and financial objectives are achieved.* Direct the strategy for price levels, ranges and price architecture.* Optimize merchandise assortment across store and e-commerce channels.* Communicate strategies to functional areas, including Inventory, Design, Sourcing, Packaging, and Creative, eCommerce, stores, etc. Own end to end execution across business.* Develop a high-performing team through thoughtful team member development, effective and timely performance assessments and productive workflow processes. Clarify objectives, assess performance and provide regular feedback.Required Skills* 10+ years retail merchandising experience* Bachelor’s degree in business or related field* Furniture experience prefered* Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team* Possess a complete understanding of Merchant plans and processes* Ability to plan product assortments and promote merchandise internally and externally to support the company sales initiatives* Awareness of new trends and product ideas in order to develop and maintain a successful assortment plan for specific merchandising categories* Financial acumen related to buying and planning – evaluate inventory, gross margin and markdowns in order to manage financial goals of the product category and assortment* Good reading, written and verbal language skills (English)The job description and other aspects of the job listed on this job posting should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by an associate in this job.
