The In-Store Merchandising Services District Manager is responsible for the overall operation of their assigned territory including maximizing customer sales and maintaining and developing an experienced staff of Retail Merchandising Associates as well as overseeing all aspects of merchandising and inventory control.
District: Mid-Atlantic (currently supporting Virginia, DC, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware)
Principle Responsibilities
Develop a successful team of both full-time and part-time Retail Merchandising Associates (RMAs) by:
Recruiting, hiring, training and educating on product and merchandising/selling techniques and reporting.
Working with other RMA leadership and Human Resources to consistently administer company policies and resolve issues as they arise.
Effectively managing territory schedules including in-store hours, administration time and drive time utilizing reports to manage RAA business by retailer, store and RMA.
Manage a territory demonstrating ownership, accountability and initiative to promote RAA sales by:
Developing strong business relationships with in-store personnel and management.
Monitoring performance of all territory stores to determine their stock needs.
Communicating opportunities for additional product sales.
Developing and implementing strategies to positively impact RAA business.
Acquiring and communicating market intelligence data (trends, competition, pricing, etc.).
Lead by example:
Building positive relationships with all members of the RAA organization.
Communicating effectively and frequently with Retail Merchandising Director via phone, e-mail and/or Microsoft Teams.
Demonstrating ethical behavior.
Willing to perform RMA functions as needed or requested as part of the RMA team.
Position Requirements
Management experience is required including experience in recruiting, training and developing people, coordination of scheduling and budget management, etc.
Field management experience is preferred.
College degree in a related field is preferred or equivalent in experience.
Merchandising and/or sales experience is preferred.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
Ability to troubleshoot technical system issues with remote team as needed.
Must be able to distinguish colors and feel of fabrics and materials per product specifications.
Frequent travel is required.
Must have a good driving record and have reliable transportation (mileage over 20 miles/day expensed).
Must live in the Mid-Atlantic district area currently supporting Virginia, DC, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Internet and mobile phone access (monthly internet and phone allowances).
Ability to work weekends as customers require (especially during the holidays).
Position requires the handling and distribution of merchandise, which requires that the manager be able to engage in considerable physical activity including:
Frequently traverses distances up to 100 yards.
Frequently moves product to and from stock rooms lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and/or moving carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
Frequently prepares merchandise for display which could include moving product from/to floor, cart, table or shelving.
Displaying merchandise may also include being able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders.
