Play an important role in the development and commercialization of technology and products that will have a major impact on the medical and life sciences fields We are looking for a highly motivated Director, Supply Chain Management to join our team You will drive strategic sourcing, planning and delivery of biotechnology products.
Your supply chain experience will give you the opportunity to shape the vision of an efficient supply chain strategy for the company and to play a pivotal role in worldwide market penetration in the world of genomics.
How You’ll Contribute As the supply chain architect, you will define, develop, and implement a state-of-the-art supply chain strategy bringing scalability, efficiency, quality, and cost optimization.
Convert forecast requirements into a master build plan execution, from planning, procurement, and material management to order fulfillment, and inbound and outbound logistic activities (including reverse logistic), in collaboration with the commercial team.
Strategically organize supply chain activities to simplify and consolidate suppliers, maximizing leverage while focusing on security of supply, quality, and cost.
Influence R&D to align design efforts with preferred and reputable sourcing partners.
Define and execute key commodities supply agreements vs dual sourcing strategy to maximize results.
Partner with manufacturing to define and deploy in-house production vs outsourcing activities based on scalability, cost opportunity, and core competencies.
You will manage all outsourcing activities in coordination with the build plan schedule.
Establish key process indicators (KPI) to measure and trend improvements for all-important operational metrics to yield year-over-year operational savings and margin improvements.
Manage rapid changes through efficient communication and coordination between R&D and Manufacturing to balance speed of product quality and reliability improvements with product transition costs minimizing material shortages and scrap cost.
Manage staff including recruiting, resource planning, and succession planning, establishing long-term goals and quarterly objectives aligned with the company initiatives.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, material management, or related field (MBA).
Minimum of 10 years in supply chain management including experience with complex equipment and a minimum of 6 years directing the organization.
Strong negotiation skills, and extremely motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a hard-working and multidisciplinary team.
Deep understanding of every step of the supply chain process to lead the procedural transition from agile “manual processes” to established PLM and ERP implementation.
ERP (preferably NetSuite) and PLM (preferably Arena) experience required.
Experience with ERP and PLM transition or implementation is a definite asset.
Experience in building and managing teams sourcing parts for complex capital equipment is a must; basic understanding of biology and chemistry reagents sourcing (cold chain management), and semiconductor wafer manufacturing process preferred.
