Job Description

Our mission at Fundbox ( is to help democratize access to business financing and build the world’s first B2B credit and payment network.

We use technology, data science, and common sense to give business loans to small business owners across the U.S., so they can succeed and grow.

Headquartered in San Francisco, with additional offices in Plano, TX and Tel Aviv, Israel, Fundbox has over 300 employees.

The Director, Partnership Strategy and Analysis is a key leadership role, with broad accountability to work closely with our Business Development team and turbocharge our growth through partnerships.

This individual will report directly to the Chief Credit Officer, and will strike a careful balance between creative partnership deals to pursue growth, and maintaining credit discipline to ensure profitability.

The Credit Team at Fundbox owns underwriting, pricing, loan performance and Collections and has P&L responsibility.

The team is responsible for driving lending margins by making important business decisions.

The team leverages data and analytics to develop policies and pricing.

In this role, you will:

  • Build a strong Partnership Strategy function that works collaboratively with the Business Development team
  • Hire, train and manage a high performing team
  • Build frameworks and valuation tools to analyze potential deals
  • Show creativity and imagination to help structure deals that meet partner needs
  • Show discipline and judgement to help ensure adequate returns for Fundbox
  • Drive multiple deals/projects in a fast-paced environment through effective communication with peers and customers
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual performance monitoring/reviews of key partnerships to ensure deals are meeting mutually agreed upon financial goals 

You should have:

  • At least 7 years experience performing and leading analysis in lending businesses (SMBs, cards, auto, unsecured loans etc.), including 3+ years in supervisory capacity
  • Ability to identify opportunities, develop analytical framework and perform and manage analyses with high degree of autonomy and accuracy
  • Prior experience in related fields (deal evaluation, M&A etc) preferred
  • Strong sense of ownership and business orientation
  • Able to communicate insights clearly and succinctly (written and verbal) and partner with cross functional teams to deliver results
  • Strong technical skills
    – SQL or other databases, R/Python, complicated financial modeling in Excel/VBA
