Role Responsibilities
Lead the Vehicle Integration and Maintenance departments, including multi-disciplinary team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
Responsible for the upfit of autonomous Class 8 trucks as TuSimple continues to iterate on new designs of our autonomous driving system and its integration with base Class 8 vehicle platforms.
Responsible for the overall quality, scalability, and efficiency of the production process (and its continuous improvement).
Responsible for maintenance of autonomous Class 8 trucks, including both vehicle level and detailed autonomy system maintenance.
Responsible for the administration of TuSimple’s Tucson facilities, including meeting all local, state and federal regulations.
Close collaboration with engineering, quality, program management, and purchasing departments to ensure on-time, high-quality, and scalable production of prototype vehicles.
Close collaboration with testing operations to ensure vehicle availability and uptime.
Experience & Skills Required
15+ years of experience leading production, maintenance, supply chain, or quality at an OEM
Experience in scaling manufacturing operations from job shop scale to 1000’s per year
Experience with changing production schedules including balancing labor, parts and equipment availability
Willingness to roll up his/her sleeves, be hands-on, and lead by example
Independent and critical thinker with a strong sense of ownership
Experience in working at a fast paced and highly dynamic growth company is preferred
BS in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field
MBA preferred
