Job DescriptionTechStyle Fashion Group is currently looking for a Director of Product Development – Fabletics.How Do You Fit In?Fabletics is seeking a Director of Product Development for our Mens, Womens, Shapewear and Accessories businesses. This role will lead and manage a team of Product Developers in the creation and commercialization of all products for Fabletics. The candidate will work closely with Design, R, Technical Design and Production to develop high quality performance apparel at the best prices in the market. This leader actively monitors development calendars to hit deadlines and key deliverables. They make key decisions which ensure the cost margin goals and quality standards are met. Drive innovation by meeting regularly with suppliers while creating a culture where people are encouraged to explore ideas and take risks.The ideal candidate is passionate, responsible, takes accountability, detail oriented, hardworking, trouble shooter and is able to pivot in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is able to work well within a team environment and is a self-motivator who can work independently.This position will report to the Vice President, Product Development & Production – Fabletics.Responsibilities:Collaborate with Design, R, Tech Design and Production to lead the development of product, which meets our financial, performance and quality standards.Work with Design and Tech Design pre-season to develop all trims, elastics, buttons and interior componentryDevelop and maintain the development and production calendar in partnership with Design, Merchandising and Production.Partner with Design and Technical Design to ensure that the techpacks going out to vendors for development are clear, complete, and timelyDetermine seasonal costing strategy and lead the costing of each style put into developmentCreate opportunities with Design and Technical Design to engineer product cost while maintaining quality, performance characteristics and design intent.Request revised samples when necessary and follow up on timely delivery / sample accuracyCommunicate daily with factories to ensure the on-time delivery and quality of protypesSet target FOBs with team/ prepare cost margin worksheetMaintain cost margin worksheet with most updated information resulting from assortment, fabric or construction changesDevelop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Design, Merchandising and Production in regard to changes / discrepancies / PP approvals etc.Sit in on final investment meeting with designer / merchandiser for all styles on order and ensure all details are finalized / approved with factory at PO stageAs styles are altered continue to update cost margin worksheet with while confirming approval from Design / Merchandising teamsCommunicate and understand any potential production issues with vendors or internallywith Production and DesignWork with Production to develop master sourcing strategy and monitor in season management via quarterly capacity reviewMentor, coach and develop career path for direct reportsReporting as needed: Cost margin worksheet, Construction library, sample WIP etc.Required Skills:10 years’ minimum experience in Product Development of apparel with a preference for performance apparel.Must possess excellent communication, organizational, planning, and leadership skills.Excellent negotiation skills and ability to coach negotiation strategyExperience with, and ability to manage multiple and overseas vendorsExtensive knowledge of fit, fabric, garment construction, trims and applicationsAbility to pivot and be adaptable while consistently delivering under pressure in a face-paced environmentExperience in working with PLM systemsPreference for candidates fluent in Microsoft ExcelAbility to travel overseas 4-6 times a year#LI-JZ1TechStyle is anequalopportunity employer.
