Director of Planning and Procurement

The Director of Planning and Procurement at JR286 will direct the overall supply chain planning within the organization, including demand planning, supply planning and procurement.

In this role, you will lead and plan key planning and procurement strategies and drive strategic sourcing and optimization activities with all functional stakeholders.

The Director of Planning and Procurement also plays a pivotal role to ensure that our forecast is translated to an accurate supply plan, maximizing our sales opportunities in the most efficient and effective way possible.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
• Create and implement a Demand Planning Strategy to ensure our growth plans and initiatives.

• Manage a global Demand Planning team.

• Manage, improve and refine the S&OP process.

• Build the overall demand planning practice within the company.

• Implement best practices in our planning processes and practices.

• Lead Sales & Operations Planning Process and meetings.

• Drive analytical trends, manage & respond appropriately to inventory levels.

• Enter and maintain data in the forecasting and planning tools, monitoring customers purchase orders and vendor commitments.

• Work closely with product development to coordinate new product launches.

• Fully understand forecasting and order modeling tools within SKU projection to achieve inventory strategies.

• Manage inventory levels to achieve fill rate goals and turns.

• Develop and utilize reporting to measure success on SKU Projection metrics.

• Determine and review planning and sales cycles.

• Manage the replenishment process through exception periods (i.e.

Chinese New Year, seasonal effects).

• Partner with Merchandise/Sales to achieve turn goals, OTB receipt/inventory management, and any merchandise strategies to achieve intended business results.

• Establish and manage KPIs for our demand planning performance.

• Determine safety/coverage days, frequency of orders, recommended EOQ protection factors, using Fill Rate or alternatives.

• Manage global Demand planning process across multiple demand channels.

• Manage and own the auto replenishment (AR) process and inventory levels.

• Create requirements to implement a planning system to support our current and future business.

• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• BS in Engineering or Business Management required
• Masters in Engineering or Management a plus
• 10 years recent experience in a demand planning and/or supply planning roles
• Computer Proficiency including spreadsheets such as Excel and Oracle 11i ASCP, MRP, inventory and purchasing modules
• Must be decisive – able to take risks – confident
• Must be able to work in a team environment and lead a team to maximize their potential
• Good analytical skills; with the ability to look at numbers and draw conclusions about actions to be taken
• Experience in leading and managing Sales and Operations Planning Processes
• Team player that has the ability to multi-task and thrives in a fast paced environment
• Ability to locate and analyze data from a variety of sources to ensure that operational decisions are made based upon the most accurate information
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to attend to multiple concurrent tasks
• Commitment to meeting absolute deadlines
• Ability to take initiative and work independently, with minimal day-to-day supervision
• Keep leadership chain-of-command informed all operational activities as required
• Interpersonal skills suited to dealing courteously and professionally with external business contacts and internal contacts within the organization
• Coach, train, and mentor operational staff
• Introduce and manage innovation and cost saving efforts for Operations
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, in writing and orally ADDITIONALLY:
• Domestic and overseas travel required
