What will you do in this role? 

The Director of Marketing leads a multi-functional marketing service team supporting our homebuilding divisions and Oakwood affiliated companies.

The Support Center Marketing Team operates as an in-house agency for the Oakwood enterprise.

This role leads operations and strategy for a team consisting of a Creative & Brand Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Social Media Manager, Senior Graphic Designer, and two additional Graphic Designers.

The company marketing mission is to drive qualified leads and the support team offers the tools, strategy, best practices, and expertise to achieve this.

This role will be accountable for the overall marketing operations, vision, strategy, and brand development and work closely with executive leadership and operating divisions to align on Marketing initiatives and goals.

  • Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Leads an in-house support team of 6+ Associates.
  • Directly manages the Digital Marketing Manager to strategize and monitor all paid and non-paid digital marketing efforts.

    Including social media strategy and online reputation.

  • Directly manages the Brand & Creative manager to guide creative direction and overall brand development.

    Includes monitoring the completion success rate of marketing requests and on-target output of deliverables to our stakeholders.

  • Aligns with the Marketing Research Analyst to identify current customer trends, profiles, and developments.
  • Manages key marketing vendors and agencies.
  • Oversees the Support Marketing budget.
  • Stays current on industry trends by attending seminars, conducting competitive research, reading industry periodicals, talking with consultants and PR, staying involved with NAHB and state and local associations, etc.

You might also have: 

  • Bachelors degree in business marketing, communications, journalism, or closely related field.

    MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 8+ years of marketing experience including at least 4 years marketing management experience.
  • Highly collaborative leadership style with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to ever-changing situations.

    Must possess the ability to coach, mentor and lead a diverse staff to deliver best in class services to our clients.

  • Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising.
  • Experience building strategic marketing programs/concepts and selling the strategic programs at the Executive level.
  • Experience creating and implementing brand awareness and communications programs and driving business using direct and channel-oriented selling models.
  • Exhibit strong business acumen, skills and maturity and the ability to work effectively with others even under stressful deadlines situations.
  • Highly developed organizational and planning skills, time management skills and written/oral communications skills.
  • Ability to think critically and draw from several resources (and interact with all levels of staff) to create unified and persuasive marketing collateral materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint a must.

    Demonstrated experience with Adobe graphics programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design) is a plus.

  • Homebuilding industry experience is a plus.
  • Marketing Agency experience is a plus.
