This role will be responsible for development of HoneywellBuilding Technologies (HBT) M&A strategy to drive our strategic vision withfocus on inorganic growth.
This position will work closely with both external and internal stakeholders tounderstand the M&A landscape and prioritize attractive adjacencies. Armed with this knowledge, this leader willseek out best in class inorganic opportunities to fill identified gaps in HBTsofferings, verticals, technology and outcomes.
Developing a M&A roadmap will require a deep dive intoadjacencies, conducting fact-based market assessment and identifying keytargets. This role will work collaboratively with the M&A team,our GMs and other Senior Leadership Team members to drive successful executionof inorganic growth.
The successful candidate will likely be someone who has abackground that includes time spent in strategy, businessdevelopment, technology commercialization and consulting. Itwill be someone who can assess the internal and external landscape andproactively understand where gaps exist. The selected candidate will have exceptional relationshipbuilding skills with partners of all scale and complexity and they will have aresilient ability to manage multiple cross-functional, high-level projectssimultaneously; will embrace a high-growth, fast paced culture, and must beable to persevere in the face of ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a portfolio planning process for Honeywell Buildings Technology.
- Understand the company’s strategic and competitive position and utilize these insights to develop M&A landscape and strategy.
- Develop M&A strategic roadmap, tools and processes; build a shared vision and alignment across teams and senior stakeholders.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify and execute on inorganic growth and opportunities, constructively challenging “where to play” and “how to win” choices.
- Identify and evaluate potential targets including strategic rationale.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive a rigorous cadence and operating process to routinely review progress and identify areas of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with our M&A and Honeywell Ventures teams to evaluate incoming opportunities against our strategic intent. Build a M&A funnel.
- Identify and evaluate opportunities in new markets within vertical and across relevant business units.
- Prepare business case for Partnership and Investment Committee based on expected value creation for inorganic opportunities.
- Support post M&A integration.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in Strategic Planning
- 3+ years of top-tier consulting firm experience
WE VALUE
- Master’s Business Administration from top-tier program
- M&A experience a plus
- Demonstrated business acumen with the leadership and functional ability to define and implement growth strategies
- Commercial understanding of customer requirements and product offerings
- Financial and international operating experience
- Experience in an industrial environment similar to Honeywell
- Ability to structure and independently lead cross-functional M&A strategy projects, working collaboratively with stakeholders across the company
- Experience with project planning, scoping, and execution in a phase-gate and/or agile environment
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Storytelling skills; delivering presentations with ease, engaging audiences
- Proven capacity to be effective in a complex global business environment. Ability to forge solid internal and client relationships and manage across broad and geographically dispersed businesses.
- Ability to deliver a consolidated view of the market environment and competitive structure
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and influencing skills
