SageGlass is currently seeking a Director of Field Operations (DFO) to manage the Project Management Team and the Field Service Team.

THe DFO is is responsible for the support functions essential to installation support and customer service.

These include pre-sale technical services, post-sale project management, commissioning of projects, and recruiting of Project Management Team and the Field Specialist talent.

The DFO is a key leadership role whose work of overall customer support has enormous influence on customer satisfaction and business decisions.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the DFO also works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate objectives and priorities are enabled within the commercial organization.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities include:

Direct the Project Managers to ensure that the project management and commissioning teams are enabling our product’s value proposition for our customers to the fullest extent possible and that customer satisfaction is high

Responsible for global training of the Sales & Field Ops teams.

This includes the creation and implementation of the technical training strategy & programs and develop assessments to verify effectiveness of training and individual capabilities.

Develop new tools and identify possible upcoming issues.

Develop & implement global training programs for construction partners like glaziers, GCs & LVEs and provide input into the development of education programs for architects, MEP and other stakeholders to increase their knowledge and adoption of dynamic glazing and applications, and positioning SAGE / Saint-Gobain and SageGlass as the market leader

Develop and implement tools to simplify and streamline processes and implement an organizational strategy so that Field Ops headcount doesn’t increase proportionately with steep revenue ramp.

At the same time, balance the size of the organization with the service levels desired

Proactively identifies opportunities for Field Ops process improvement.

Works closely with sales, sales ops, product, manufacturing to inspect pre
– & post sales process quality and prioritize opportunities for improvement.

Assists management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies.

Facilitates an organization of continuous process improvement.

Assist Product Development and R&D on the development of new products and enhancements to bring the voice of the customer and the realities of the installation process into consideration

Collaborate with Sales to support them on achieving revenue goal.

Evaluate, procure and implement technical tools that effectively demonstrate our product’s value proposition and truly differentiate us from the competition.

Ensure effective pre-sale technical support for our product’s specification, installation, and in general solve the customer’s problems in the most efficient way possible.

Build Field Ops capability to provide executive and technical support to the sales team on large and/or complex construction projects.

Provide introductions to industry network, make recommendations and assist in closing sales – particularly for those opportunities where a personal

Working with Sales, Sales Ops, Manufacturing and Finance, establishes a periodic S&OP process to ensure accurate forecast of incoming orders, shipping and revenue recognition

Monitors the accuracy and efficient distribution of field ops reports and other intelligence essential to the organization.

Recommends revisions to existing reports or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.

Implements enabling technologies, including CRM.

Monitors the field ops organization’s compliance with required standards for maintaining ERP & CRM data.

Works closely with sales ops management to optimize the effectiveness of the firm’s technology investments.

Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives.

Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel

Required Qualifications

Four-year degree, Engineering or Construction Management preferred, Architecture, or other suitable technical undergraduate degree preferred

7-10 years’ experience leading a technical services group and/or project management team in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Electronics industry

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Capable of multitasking and prioritizing their work in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Extreme attention to detail and accuracy required.

Demonstrate an ability to learn quickly and somewhat independently.

Good balance of empathy and “win-win” negotiation skills.

Has the skill to solve problems and strong desire to please the customer.

Excellent interpersonal skills (telephone and in person) and ability to interact successfully with all types of people regardless of education or stature

Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and be capable of becoming proficient in the use of other software and business systems.

Proficient in or be capable of becoming proficient in the interpretation of Architectural, Electrical and Mechanical drawings and specifications.

Must be able to navigate and work in an office, construction and manufacturing environment and wear personal protection equipment (PPE) as mandated.

Physically capable of lifting 30 pounds.

Without assistance, be willing and capable to climb and work off of ladders, scaffolds, etc.

as well as being willing to be transported in various lifts, swing stages, and other aerial equipment to various heights on construction sites.

Travel is required, averaging 40% of the time depending on the project requirements and may vary over the course of the year, primarily in North America, and occasionally overseas.

Occasional work after normal business hours or weekends may be required on occasion to meet project needs based on schedule or project location.
