Director of Engineering

This is a Full-time position in Charleston, SC posted January 20, 2022.

Wanted: Director of Engineering to help scale GoodUnited’s product offerings that make it possible for nonprofits to have a 1:1 relationship with every supporter.

(Note: This position is local to Charleston, SC.)

On an average day, you will:

* Develop and execute the strategy to ensure the engineering team reliably delivers milestones.

This includes determining what positions to outsource and what positions to bring in-house.
* Work with product and design leaders to transform a managed-service solution into a SaaS platform
* Establish a high-performance engineering culture.

Hire and coach A-players
* Manage globally distributed engineering team members
* Drive best practices and standards while decreasing technology debt.

Ensure the company continues to drive process improvement and migration to cloud services to decrease the overall cost of technology.

Identify areas for continued consolidation and help the leadership team and company balance competing priorities
* Serve in triad with Director of Product and Director of Design to rapidly hypothesize and test future product opportunities.

Requirements

Your background, experience, and abilities:

* A proven track record as a Director of Engineering in a high growth, SaaS environment.

You have in-depth software development and engineering experience and are well versed in next generation platforms in a SaaS based business.

You have at least 8+ years of progressive experience developing and commercializing SaaS solutions (required).
* A demonstrable track record of leading new software development and engineering teams (required).

You must have delivered results that drove measurable business gain and growth in the people working for you.
* Depth in product lifecycle management and previous experience leading large-scale platform transformation is required.

You have the appropriate mix of technical and business skills as well as an ability to translate customer and market opportunities into a robust suite of products and solutions.
* Strong business acumen, financial skills and overall leadership style to be a contributing member on a highly collaborative and experienced senior leadership team.

In addition to being the functional technology leader, you have the ability to identify key business opportunities that will drive continued value creation for the company.
